    Encouraging if true.

They must have somebody in the hospital given all the details.

Does this mean, he's breathing on his own as well?

I haven't checked here in a while. Great news. Coma recovery will vary but it looks like Michael is well on his way. The champion awakens. Despite the disagreements in this thread in general we all have wanted nothing but good things for him. I think it's paying off.

The news is good but I can't help but stay pessimistic. I just can't get my hopes up only to be dashed by bad news. I hope for the best but I have mentally prepared for the worse. Sorry to be such a debbie downer. I really am. I just can't take anymore disappointment.

Well realize that coma recovery is not a picnic. But the news lately indicates that he's probably not going to be a permanent vegetable. Traumatic brain injuries (TDIs) will leave varied impairments depending on the individual. Michael may actually be able to talk and walk. To what level we cannot know. But keep praying and/or envisioning a normal Michael.

we all wish him the best. But there is no news on which to base a prognosis. People in a vegetative state can have their eyes open, there is just nothing behind those eyes.

The interview revealed more than that: he follows sounds with his eyes

Yes it does. I've had a few less than promising opinions on this blog, but just being realistic. I have a full size picture , signed, of him on my office wall with some valves from his F1 engine,so I,ve always been an admirer. In my work I look after the chronically brain damaged that never recovered, long after the neurosurgeons went on to other challenges; I would hate to see him in that state.

Hi guys. I just want to announce that Sabine Kehm, Schu's manager, will attend to a TV show on tomorrow Sunday.
Michael's condition will be talked about.
I'm not sure if I can watch it, but I'll try and if there is anything interesting I'll post it here later.

For anyone who is interested - it is the "Guenther Jauch" TV show, starting at 9:45pm (German time), on ARD.

Hopefully Florian or another of our German brothers will give us a summary of what she says.

I'd love for her to at confirm he's breathing on his own at least. Hopefully more positive news too!

    Godspeed Michael

Hopefully we will hear more good news from her - or at least more information on the improvements spoken about last week.

It has now been 104 days ....

That's what I'm believing..... Given their previous total lock down on updates I'm really hopeful she'll be saying some positive things. Fingers crossed!

True. But Jauch is not an aggressive journalist. Whatever he will ask has been vetted with Kehm before. Think US talkshow (Leno, Letterman) style. Without the humor, since these are Germans. :)

I thought that Leno was Letterman without the humor.
