Sorry you have struggled so hard to understand my remarks and that you were so offended by my tongue in cheek (I sincerely meant no offence to Art138 or you) original post that you took it upon yourself to play post Sheriff and punish me and label me as flippant and a bit presumptuous. My original point was, is and continues to be that there are other places to look other than just eBay and Cars.com as referenced in Art138s original post.

    Regarding points 1,2 & 3

1.Your own misquote morphing of your original post statement of "There are lots of duplicates" into "Not really sure how me saying there are duplicates is an opinion" is not salient nor relates to my point of agreeing with you that there are duplicates but there are also many other vendor opportunities listed to explore which may be available but until you contact those opportunities as suggested to verify true current time availability means any other statement remains your speculative opinion.

    2. Your original post statement was "Also, there are many stale listings in duPont Registry typically" again this is a generality and your personal opinion. Why? Because it does not refer to the present moment.

The above retort is qualified by your use of the word typically, additionally that just reinforces the fact you had not addressed the current listings (which were what I was directly referring to) by not including that days current vendor verification contact information work done by YOU on that day (if you did any) (on the non duplicated ones) as proof. Smells to me (just my personal opinion here to make sure I am being abundantly clear) like you may have had some uncomfortable experience with them (duPont) in the past and felt it necessary to make a negative statement about them and many of their users of them in retaliation.

3."I never said anything about Ebay did I?" No you did not. I never said you did. My actual closing was: "My point to ART138, you and the community is don't assume Ebay is the grail, look everywhere, leave no stone unturned and there are more than 4 contact opportunities out there so go deep" which literally meant that Art138s original posted statement taking eBay's 4 cars and Cars.com then stating his conclusion that it was representative of the total market offerings without offering or including research results from all the available current vendor contacted (if indeed he did do more research than stated) information from all the available sources for all potential correct specification models (read: Scuderia coupe) is/was his personal extrapolation opinion of current market offering conditions was/is not a fact and to look and try to contact every possible contact opportunity.

In any case cheers, good luck and I wish you well on your journey. Feel free to say whatever remarks you desire or call me any name you wish, you are obviously exceptionally well gifted in that department. I am done wasting the effort trying to explain my posts to you or your warped translation and opinion of my posts.

The fact that it is necessary to get super prescriptive for something like "duplicates" to be acceptable yet it is OK to throw out a two word one liner labeling the OP speaks for itself. No point in arguing further as I will likely find that the bar is high to meet your your high standards of what is an acceptable statement yet very easy to meet a low hurdle of being judged incorrect by not meeting the prescribed standard. To be fair, you have graciously apologized for my struggles on this. More seriously, though, I have no doubt that you are sincere in not meaning to offend the OP.

While not intending to offend the OP, I find it sad that you have resorted to the last post. My apologies for being "warped" and daring to question your supreme logic by probing into the one liner and the link you offered as backup to the one liner. Apparently I have called you names and labeled you too which is unacceptable behavior for a sheriff. Although, perhaps I should thank you for wishing me luck on my journey, your compliment on my personal gifts, and offering me freedom to make remarks here ;)

This is all supposed to be fun---time for a drive. That I hope we can agree on!

Was just at the Mecum Auction in Houston. A 2008 red Scuderia with 10000+ miles recent service. Did not have all the carbon fiber pieces, alcantera with cloth interior, otherwise no obvious body issues. No history available. The car sold at 170K, but with the buyers premium that is probably 180 - 183 range. I would consider that is a pretty good selling price from an auction, limited info on history, and not a highly optioned car at the 10K mile threshold. Are the scuds starting to hold on value?

Indeed...why would anyone sell a scud now given that prices are jumping up (in the minds of some, well, make that one, errr...now who was that person anyways?)

Strawman? Who said that? Show us the many that said that. [Of course the occasional and standard and always partially true "prices are usually softer in the winter for exotics" comments will be out there, but that's not what your Strawman says and one or two is not "many" by any rational definition if you can even find one or two]

That said, I've been following this market for 3+ years and your point IS accurate...there are fewer for sale lately than 2 or 3 years ago. Freshmeat keeps track of this and he posts in this thread to make your point without resorting to weak Strawman or hyperbole.

What? There isn't data to support that...

Ummm..no, not "jumping up" by any rational definition of that word...

    Again, what?

    "Ah...Its a PROFIT deal"!

[Now, where is that quote from...oh, yeah, the movie "The Jerk".]

With that said, I wish you a sincere good luck with your sale. A red one owner 2009 scud is an awesome car and I'm sure will sell well...and would do so without this silly hyperbole you have posted and wouldn't seem so self-serving and insulting to your fellow board members.

There is a slow but gradual shift upwards in the UK market. +8% in 3 years. Prices on 458 coupe has dropped straight past them, even low mile cars!

    'SCUD'
Verb. To move fast as if driven by the wind.

Well, not going to do the search for you but you have been looking at these threads as long as I have. At times your assertions are pointless and repetitive (yes search yourself). You have been kicking scud tires for 3 plus years (I bought one)...I would say to many Scud owners your credibility as the Scud functional expert is questionable. You are also late on the draw, I posted this in the winter...

Have you cracked 2k miles on that thing yet?

I'll pay less than 150k and have more miles on it than yours in a month.

    ROFL!

You are about to be even more upset - I'm 36 years old. Must burn you up that I will have the same car as you. You are quite the elitist; also dishonest as Arizona Italian points out. Did you know Rob Lay drives a 328? Guess he isn't a "big dog" either. LOL

Here's a deal - let's make a bet. $5k big dog. If I buy a Scud in the next 12 months you pay up; if not, I'll pay you 5k.

Should be chump change for a big dog like you. Come'on don't chicken out now with everyone watching.

Yikes! No miles...pass for me. Could see how it might appeal to some - essentially a new Scud. Sad it was never driven though.

Not sure if that was just a general post in response to the title of the thread or directed at me. I'm seeking a coupe though and have a lead on a nice one right now : ) Have a thread on it...

Of course you attack the messenger. That's what one does when their post is BS and it's all they can do. (Btw, I knew there would be no answer from you to my questions).

    To your accusations about me:

Yes, I have posted many times that scud prices generally have followed the price model that F430GT created and have held steady for 2+ years with an occasional sale below price model and above the model. Unlike some owners' comments my comments are not biased and transparently full of crap. So, "yes" I've had to post the market reality to avoid readers getting confused by the biased BS that a few post. If people stop posting crap and if new posters stop asking about the scud market, I will not have to post anything about the market.

I'm no longer "kicking tires" in a would be buyer sense. 2 years ago I thought I wanted one to upgrade/replace the CS. I since decided I simply can't get rid of the CS. While I risk having dannyboy think me a lesser man, I cannot afford both (don't have the garage space and can't justify having two such cars in the back roads and occasional track day role they fill for me). That said I still like to follow the market and on occasion give some thought to getting one for my brother (kind of an early inheritance).

I have no idea what you mean by "functional expert", but let me be clear...I don't claim to be an expert on anything. As mentioned above I post on the market when the question comes up and to offset BS posted by self serving board members. I also refer people to F430GT's posts for real first hand expert input on scuds. And, I hope you are not talking about the launch control posts earlier...I didn't want to embarrass dannyboy (I generally let him do that himself), by pointing out he as an owner is actually wrong about the matter (he may not be the only owner who doesn't know about LC). I also think Freshmeat is very knowledgable about the scud and the market and refer folks to his posts.

If it makes the few fragile-ego'd scud owners feel a bit better, I also post often how great a car the scud is. And that inventory has declined and that prices are holding steady. All positives...but for some, that reality is not enough.
