Scary to watch that video, but I'm grateful the Tour Auto continues to exist and bring lots of excitement!

    Hello,

    Not Drogo, Neri & Bonacini.

One or two staffers from Drogo did help on the body in the evenings but it was entirely masterminded by Giorgio Neri and Luciano Bonacini in their own workshops based upon the ideas of Giotto Bizzarrini.

What confuses people (ad nauseam) is that a famous 250GT (2735GT if I recall correctly) was crashed at the Nurburgring in May of that year -1962- and in the hands of Drogo got a nose like that of the Breadvan AFTER the Breadvan was made because the Drogo staff inspired themselves from it.

    Best regards,

    Marc Sonnery

    Very disturbing video.
It's painfull to see such rare and valuable machinery damaged with such predictability. I think the blame falls equally on the drivers and event organizers. Clearly there should have been some course notes and cautionary markings prior to that turn. In my opinion they should have left a standing yellow flag out after the first few incidents.
After all it's not just rare machinery at risk, someone could be severely injured or killed.

I'm all for using vintage cars as they were intended, but this display was disgraceful. Shame on all involved!

    Hello Dmitry,

There are photos of it in black in my book (Rebel rebel Breadvan, Parker House Publishing 2010 easily found online). If you kick Putin in the backside I will give you a copy free;-)

    Best regards,

    Marc

    Hello, Marс

Thanks for a good offer, but I'm not interested in politics completely, do not watch TV and you do not recommend - is bad for the brain.
Always believed that normal people can and should live in peace and friendship. And if politicians like so much enmity, so let the fight among themselves.
Forum about Ferrari, so we will not be distracted from the main theme.
For years I have been going around the internet and other photo for information about Ferrari. Little by little, it all sort and organize (if it is possible to apply to the company Ferrari), just for fun.
I could share all of this, if I knew where to post 15Gb photos and HTML files. Maybe someone is interested.

    Best regards,

    Dmitry

It was 250 GT SWB 2053GT that was crashed at the Nurburgring in May of 1962 and rebodied by Drogo. 250 GT SWB 2735GT was crashed at Goodwood in August of 1962 and rebodied by Drogo.

    Best wishes, Marc.

    Steve.

    Hello Dmitri,

It was just a little joke no offense meant:)

Be careful about what you find on the internet on Ferrari history as there are a lot of errors, egoes and people competing about knowlegde instead of sharing passion...

    All the best to you,

    Marc

Ah yes, thanks Steven, I actually researched and wrote the Breadvan book in 2008 even though it only came out two years later and since I am mostly concentrating on Maserati now six years on I confused the two.

    Best regards,

    MS

I'm sure I will, Marc. How I came to know it was 2053GT that was crashed at the Nurburgring is that it was you who told me. :)

I believe the Tour Auto does use route notes. I would be very surprised if they didn't. Still, the driver is ultimately responsible.

several of them stalled it, when racing first thing you learn is both feet in. :D

there were a couple mistakes, but there were also some REALLY good drivers.

There were some very nice "saves", not the least of which was the GTB.
