Spotted today at the Nürburgring. Picture from RSRNürburg's FB site.

Car looks to have a VBox mounted on the windshield as well as high voltage warning stickers. It also has a contrast colored front panel like the car Gene posted a picture of on Twitter.

Excellent. Further proof that more cars need to be ordered in colors other than red.

On the other hand, the overabundance of red cars means that those ordered in other colors are that much more special.

There will be a lot more colors coming out of the factory in time.

There are multiple test cars. Not a car for every purpose but certainly quite a few.

We know you like the red/black combo but nearly every LaFerrari so far is red/black and every single time a picture of one is posted you keep saying how much you love it, how it's the best configuration, how perfect and amazing it is and how all people who prefer other colors are wrong, etc.

It's getting very old and very annoying..

agree. strange for owners who spent so much money on a limited edition cars not wanting to customize/personalize it to be more special. it is very strange to be very honest.

I don't care about lap times. That sort of thing is very fun for those who care about numbers, but pretty irrelevant to any real life situation or driver.

Hope they will sort out any issues and return with an improved car.

I agree, but it has to be faster than the previous model at least or what's the point.

My rule of thumb is to never sacrifice driving pleasure for speed. All these laptimes are set in the hands of professional racing drivers. I was told by a senior figure at one of the major supercar manufacturers that on the 'Ring an the difference in driver experience can easily account for 20 seconds of the time. Not to mention they set their times on slicks wether they admit it or not.

Therefore lap times are pretty irrelevant to me. Just think about how much more advanced tires are today than just 5 years ago. According to the engineers in Marsnello, on the Speciale the Sport Cup 2 tires alone account for 1 second of the faster lap time around Fiorano compared to the 458. Whilst mentioning Fiorano lap times, it's easy to forget that the layout of Fiorano was changed in sometime in 96/97 making the circuit >1 second quicker.

They may be experimenting with different aero configurations as well as collecting as much data as possible with regards to the downforce capabilities of the car.

Another aspect is the data collection concerning the air flow and cooling through the car in high stress situations. The heat generated from the battery packs puts extra demands on the cooling systems and design. They may want to check that cooling is adequate even when running in the maximum downforce mode over an extended period. There has been a few problems with the cooling thus far.

very true.the difference in driving experience in the ring as a major factor to the time seems to be a common sense for any sensible adult and yet almost most of the people showing keen interest in that discussion are ignoring it (even to those who claim to acknowledge that as a fact). i found that 'vs' thread has become pretty much a 3 ways fan boy jersey yanking contest with so much bias and favoritism towards or against one another. to some one who is truly admiring number and science these sort of test results released by individual manufacturers are far from having the fairest/perfect test condition to compare the cars, with too many variables that could affect the result. and yet all the pointless arguments/speculation with no common ground or set rules are continuously swamping the thread. it is mind boggling.

i just hope that those self-proclaimed 'helpful' persons who contribute to the forum ' positively' would know that they are no less biased and annoying as those they accuse to be the opposite.

some time you gotta admire those who are obviously openly biased and never try to pretend to be fair and levelheaded, like those who love the red/blk lafe to death or those who hate the ferrari so much that they have to turn their beautiful cars into a piece of turd just to give ferrari the middle finger, and of course those busy bees dwelling somewhere in this forum who tend to mistake doo doo as honey.

    +1

The reason I stay out of the vs thread is just that. Fanboys quarreling over triviliaties. The useful information and discussion is stampeded by nonsense.

I agree. That's why I'm just straight-up annoying and bypass the "helpful" part. :D

Have any 'Ring times surfaced for the LF yet?

No. Doubt there will be. To be honest I'm quite uninterested in the whole thing but I could always ask around to hear if there is any news.
