    Hi, Matthias...

    Do you count P540 as an Aperta? I understand its conversion, but it still wears as a 599 VIN, and it was built way earlier than the first Aperta.

    Adrian- Very pretty. Here is the photo so it does not get lost. Red interior looks very bright against dark blue paint. I probably would have gone for blue mirrors and sail and window trim.

    Note the size of the shields. Paint/sticker?

    Yeh that looks fabulous, other than the shields.

    Painted shields on the 599 Goat would've been a cool homage to the original.

    Stunning example. I love the painted shields, gives it an "old school" feel.

    SuperAmerica isn't the SA Aperta name; it has a different meaning. This is how the name of the new model was explained at the introduction>

    Ferrari today unveiled the new SA Aperta – the long-awaited Ferrari 599 roadster. It's a limited edition and just 80 will be built globally, one for each of the years styling house Pininfarina's been in business.

    This explains the Ferrari SA Aperta name: the SA part of the badge honours Sergio and Andrea Pininfarina, whose company has a long history of designing the most beautiful Ferrari models.

    Other than the fact one is LHD and the other is RHD, one is Rosso Fuoco the other is Rosso Corsa, one has polished grey wheels, the other silver wheels...
    They are of course entirely different cars...

    The "Limited Edition 1 of 80" one? I thought they all said that (?). Or are you referring to the 80/80?

    i believe this has been discussed earlier in the thread, but here goes;

    The reason Ferrari has changed to all limited edition models carrying the plaque 1/xx is partly because of this. On the SA Aperta nearly half a dozen costumers requested to have a 1/80 badge while the rest were numbered traditionally. Creates havoc for those who do not know the VIN. I would think that the same applied to 80/80, i.e. several costumers ordering the same specific plaque for novelty purposes.
