I did! Very nice color, but not my first choice...couple of red ones just popped onto the market - have some calls scheduled today. Hoping to be a long-term owner, so becoming a bit more finicky about the color. Really appreciate people looking out! : )

...also looks like the thread got taking down - perhaps he sold it or traded?

He did...got a yellow 458. I think there is a thread in that forum. That was a nice scud and sold quickly because he priced it at market (he wanted the model-derived price...I have no idea if he got his asking or not.)

Thanks! I really love Silverstone as a color, but I would want a red, yellow, or the Italian-stripe for it ideally...or no stripe, then run my own ; )

As the new-car-madness grips me, I find myself rationalizing a higher priced Scud - if fairly priced and the right circumstances/specs/etc.

I've had a number of great conversations with sales people all over the US today. : )

I'm going to go drive the M3, take a cold shower, then sleep on it!

Yes, my Silverstone Scuderia sold quickly. A nice young man came by and looked at the Scuderia late Monday evening where we went out on a test drive. The deal concluded today. Car will stay local to So Cal.

Transaction was concluded at pricing model price +/- a few dollars!

Here she is...it has not fully sunken in yet.

Used 2008 Ferrari F430 Scuderia For Sale in the San Francisco Bay Area | VIN: ZFFKW64A380163042

Michael Deeb is one of the finest sales people I have ever encountered. I really can't say enough good things about the experience. Now I need to book a flight! ; )

I also can't say enough about this forum...as I mentioned at the outset - I've been blown away by the 308 guys in the past. The scud guys, although fewer in number, also seem like an awesome bunch as well.

No I did not pay asking price. Yes, the final number was *scary* close to F430GT's pricing calculator. No, this scud will never be back on the market if I can help it. So everyone else's scud just went up in value! Congrats! ; )

Some pretty interesting things about the car I think:

    --93% clutch life left.
--The original owner had all of the orange peel taken out of the paint, then wrapped the entire car in clear-bra. : O

Some other details of the deal:

    CPO
    Purchased 1yr Power Normal Warranty
    I spent more than I wanted to! ; )

Thanks! I've been on the phone/email for what seems like a week straight! I think I spoke to people in TX, PA, CA (2), AZ (2), FL, NY, MO! I'm really exhausted honestly!

I plan to post the other cars and people I was dealing with as well shortly. Going out in the driveway to fist pump and do super high rock n' roll kicks...excuse me for a moment.

I was not planning on making an offer until later in the week, but Michael and I got so close on price, that I had to pull the trigger.

Btw, how do I find F430GT's pricing calculator? I'm interested to see if I paid the right price...

    Thanks!

Thanks! I can't wait. I've only ever driven one on a track. That is both a blessing and a curse I think. I cannot wait to hit some of my favorite technical roads around here. Western Pennsylvania has some stunning roads with dramatic elevation changes and banking. You can have great fun in some low gears!

    Here you go!

The pricing guide is nice as a reference but estimates the prices too high IMO. According to the guide, I should have expected to pay over $200k for my scud. I bought it for significantly less than that though. Just something to consider.

Fwiw, I use a slightly modified version which results in slightly (perhaps ~$10k) lower values.

And, of course there are sales that are higher and lower than the model would calculate....it's a market after all. I know of people here that have paid both more and less than the model...but heck, it's usually with a few percentage points...there was a near zero mile car that sold well above $205k (so the premium for a preserved car was valued by that buyer).

I love your scud in TDF...rad and I and others debated the color premiums a few times and largely tried to stay away from that while topic but he did include a few attempts at color price deltas in his model. Not to start a war (or even rehash this old topic) , because I love blue ferraris and silver ferraris, but for whatever reasons they don't carry the same value as (resale) red and they take a lot longer to sell in most cases. One can see it everyday in the car ads.

How many miles did your car have? Year? Full US carbon package? Just trying to see how you calc the model for it. My modified model would have a price well below $200k depending upon those answers.

Yeah, I think more like $20k less is more accurate. When I was shopping last September the average ASKING price for all scuds (coupe) was $183k. I bought in the $170s.

My car is 2008, factory stripe, US carbon package, alcantara, Silverstone, 7500 miles (when purchased). This puts the estimate at over $200k, right? That's too high.

I don't know your car, in my earlier post I thought it was TDF...sorry got mixed up in another thread :)

A 2008 with carbon is $195k and then the only adjustments are -$15k for the mileage and +$5k for the grigiosilverstone color = $185k using F430Gt's model.

Not sure how you are getting over $200k?

Ah, I think I messed up the mileage part. I added value instead of subtracted. In that case, I agree with you that a $10k downward adjustment seems about right.

Ha ha, that's a great way to think about it. I asked because I didn't to enough research before buying it. Being a first time Ferrari buyer, I just went to the showroom and did basic negotiating. I discovered this website post-fact. So I am curious to know how much not doing my homework cost me.

Nonetheless, I think the salesman at Ferrari Silicon Valley (Charlie Miles) did a great job and helped me with negotiating with the previous owner. So a shout out to them.
