Hello, I am thinking of a 348 Challenge, car raced in '93.

Knowen history, good condition, street legal. What is the value of a car like this?

Ferrari Classiche, lot of parts, invoices etc.,...

    Thanks for helping.

You might get a better response in the 348/355 section.

Parts help, so do records. Ferrari classiche might be rare for the challenge cars, but who knows? What's the asking price?

In the US, maybe $50K USD???

There was a very nice one, new interior and lots of spares, that was a hard sell at that number...

If it's a raced car, the concern is mileage.

Raced cars have a degree of usage not found in normal challenge cars, suspension, engine, tranny and braking rebuilds will be due much sooner.

Buyer beware when saying 50k US and not talking about mileage as part of the equation.

Looks good. Especially the number. It is a Competizone, not a Challenge. Even more rare than the Challenge. What's the going price?

Is that really a 348 Competizione?

It's a Michelotto, which is extremely rare in its own right, but I don't think it's a factory Competizione.

These cars are not street legal, different from a 348 challenge car.

If you call the michelotto factory they will offer some details if you have the number of the car, they have history on all the cars that went through their shop.

If not mistaken, this car will be around 200k USD if not more. Depends on the it's racing history and where it finished. The last 308 michelotto race car sold at auction a while back for 1m usd

Is this what you are looking for ?

I like my 348 challenge. It's all I need for a nice track day.

If it was campaigned, the title might be marked as "off road use only". Once they went Challenge, they weren't suppose to go back to Street cars.

    Ira -

Was the sticker in the pic mounted on the the roll cage? Appears so from the pic. I have the remnants of a yellow sticker on my roll cage but I can't fully make out the text. Let me know as I'd like to have one reproduced - if you could shoot another pic or two so that I can read the full text :). Thx.

Good luck! The guy who bought my prior 348CH (#94285) owns a number of old Ferrari racecars and is supposedly going to build a museum to house them- we shall see . . .

    Mark,

Yes, the sticker was mounted on the roll cage of my previous red 348CH (#94285), but I've since replaced it with the grey one (#98791) so I can't take any additional photos. Here's what I believe it says though:

"WARNING- No street use of race prepared car
When prepared for racing with the Challenge Kit a 348
Challenge cannot [underscore] be driven on the street or highway. It is
illegal to do so. Serious injury or death can result.
Before resuming ordinary driving, you must [underscore] have the Kit
removed and replaced with the vehicle's regular equipment. A
dealer will do this work for you. Again, you cannot drive a
Ferrari 348 Challenge on the street or highway."

If you do have new ones printed I'd be happy to share the cost and put one on the cage in my current car, which only has the original OMP stickers but not this one. Thanks.

    Ira
