I just took delivery of my 348 from a fellow f-chatter (Doug) out of N.C. It has been a dream to learn the history of the vehicle and share in the culture that is Ferrari. I have always loved cars, and like all of you, dreamed of owning "the ultimate" car, a Ferrari, one day. I purchased the car, closed the sale of my M5, and took delivery of my 348 all without the slightest hint to the wife what I was doing. I simply had the car in the garage when she came home from running errands, and waited to see the look on her face--priceless!! She loves the car.

Being a pilot I get to fly really fast and really expensive toys. But, when the motors shut down and the fuel runs out it's awesome to come home in my little Suzuki Forenza and see the garage open up, and sitting in the 3rd bay is a little piece of art, a little piece of automotive legend, and a lot of pride.

Is that this one? If so congrats. I was also looking at this one until I smashed my front bumper on my SLK55 Thursday night on a tractor trailer tire in the middle of the interstate. :(

Congratulations! Even after two years of ownership myself, I still get a thrill out of seeing my Ferrari sitting in the garage every morning. Enjoy the experience.

And cool photos of your other vocation as well...

Congrats on a beautiful car! Probably feels a bit slow compared to that other "ride" you've got...

A little slower...but still just as much fun. And I can take my wife for a ride in this one so that makes her happy :)

    Very cool!

That Hornet needs a [subdued] Scuderia Ferrari badge for sure.

Well it's fun when you get to use really expensive toys at the governments expense. I've flown around in a Chieftain for a while and it's a great airplane. And, you get to fly yours wherever you want to...so that's a win for you!

I saw that 348 for sale on FChat. Inquired about it a bit... it seemed like an _extremely_ well sorted and clean example.

Congratulations! I'm on a multi-hundred-mile road trip in my 348 right now... (well, not actually driving right now... :) )

Good luck with your new ride. We have owned our about six months, and I still can't wait to drive it after work. By the way, My father was an officer at Moody field during the first part of WW II. I believe he was responsible for maintaining B 25's. Looks like you have a nice ride. Super Hornet?
    What year is your car?

We live near the Navy base and see a lot of great planes here. Boy, those fighter jet engines are loud when you light the burner.

Yup...that's not the same one. I did call on that one though. Pretty good car, but nothing beats a "for sale by owner" deal. You get to know the person who actually owned the car, make a friend, and no taxes :)
