I know you have a million times more knowledge than me - I am experiencing the same issue. Waiting to finish rebuilding and install my alternator this weekend. Perhaps a charge and drive/check would be worth it...

Today I repaired the passenger seat belt. It didn't want to come out smoothly. Some silicon spray on the mechanism and after some work out for the mechanism everything works fine now.
I also repaired the luggage cover with two Zlideon zippers. They work remarkably well!
And last but not least I glued new foam to the front hood to cover the radiator. The original foam was long gone when I bought the 308 but I didn't want to pay the price for an original new set. I finally found an online shop that can deliver the foam to order. For two strips I only paid less than 4 euros! Shipping was more (10 euros).

And I went for a spirited drive after all that :D

Picked her up from the body shop about 2 weeks ago, had both door bottoms re-skinned, aslo had them repair the dents (due to improper jacking) removed from the sills and had them repainted in body color. They even repainted the beltline in satin black for me N/C.

Today I washed her and installed euro turn signal lenses to replace a cracked USA lens, I think it looks great.

Then took her on a nice drive...

(Please excuse the specs on the photo, my iPhone lens is trashed)

I discovered why my front left air intake fan wasn't working.
FRIED is the best way of explaining it! No way to fix so new one ordered from Superformance. Another job for next week I guess.

Also found an old FOX XK radar detector behind the grill i didn't know I had. Must have been put there by the original owner in the late 70s early 80s - not sure if i should remove it or leave it there for old times sake

After a lot of trial and error with different spec LEDs, I finally found a combination that gives me a bright and even illumination.

Is the light still greenish? I do not like the blue/white led's.

No, the white LEDs I choose give a bluer tint to all the gauges. Inside the gauges have blue plastic filters and diffraction rings so that is the tint you see. Below is the filter from inside the tach.

Awesome, did you do a thread on this? I'm looking for the definitive answer on what LEDs to buy and how to do this.

I re-finalized the cleaning and assembly of the A/C system. After flushing all the components, new "O" rings everywhere, re-installing the new expansion valve, drier, and compressor I hooked up the gauges and vacuum pump and pulled it down to 29-ish and let that run for 30 min then closed it off. Still holding vacuum after 12 hours so on to the next step.

And, fortuitously, I found the battery cover retaining nut that I lost some months ago, it was wedged under the condenser.

Replaced my dinged A/C control plate with a repro from Superformance. The little things seem to be very satisfying and make a big difference.

Prepped and applied POR-15 to the inside of my doors while the cards are off and the window motors out. Confirmed that both of the doors have had repair panels insert along the bottom of the door skins. From the back one can see the seam.

Spent 8 hours with a friend much more knowledgable on electrics than I am trying to sort out my GT4 headlight electrics. Only 3 were working. Got all 4 to work then the duff one went off again but that iso for another day.

The bigger problem is that the main beams came on in the dipped mode. After much scrutinising of the wiring diagram and testing it turned out to be a wrong spec relay where the contacts involved were open all the time. Wes switched to a correct relay from another slot and EUREKA. Now I just have to source a Bosch 0332015006 or equivalent.

Then we are going to rewire the lights with local relays. New outer lights with dual filament (main and dip) as I think they should be anyway. Will report back on progress

Valance on, grille on, custom 3d printed grille holders on, wheel wells adjusted and on, passenger kick panel on, labeled all wires no longer connected for silly things like vapor pumps, slow down lights, etc ; )

    Getting closer!

Changed over the clear/amber front indicator lense to clear ones, also replaced the amber turn globes with phantom globes that are silver/chrome and are invisiable when viewing the car from the front, so car indicators do not have the normal amber globes showing through the clear lense, i have placed photo under another thread titled 'clear Turn signal lense'. Note if you are buying the phantom globes you will need the 180 degree pins version and not 150 degree, or at least that is what I needed for the 83 QV.

Just put together an order for all the parts I need for my belt service. Ordered some new shifter bushings too since the shifter is starting to feel a little sloppy.

Spent the day yesterday with a friend who understands auto electrics much more than I do trying to sort out my GT4 headlights, which have all 4 lights on (except one inner one only works intermittently) on dipped. Eventually discovered that the main beam relay fitted is the wrong one, and have ordered the correct one. Also ordered new Cibie outer lights with dual filament lamps which is correct. Mine are single filament and dip right (not left as they should here) but as it lived in Switzerland for many years I can understand that

But that is only temporary as we are going to rewire it through relays at the headlamps which will be fed direct from the battery. Will post pics as we do it.

Also bought some heat shield baffle material. Previous owner installed a Stebro exhaust with no heat shield. He says it doesn't need it. I am not so sure, and though not original I intend to build a new aluminium heat shield with the material attached, and secure it from the carbon fibre boot.
