This will be my second Ferrari but first new Ferrari

Since my first was blue so i was going for the classic red/tan combo this time. Came across a F12 on the floor which was similar to my desired configuration and that helped me decide as their configurator resolution and colors were not very life like.

    Exterior:

I like the Rosso Scuderia (RS) better being a bit lighter

    Interior:

Cuoio is my favorite but the sales advisor seemed to think it will not go well with Rosso Scuderia and suggested black. But I dont like black interiors. Amazingly there was a F12 awaiting delivery and I thought it was a good inspiration for the color combo. RS exterior with Beige interior and Cuoio carpets (See pic) . So I am thinking this will be a suitable color combo for me but in my heart I'm still not able to let go of Cuoio.

    Calipers:

    Yellow or red? Still undecided

    Camera:

Decided to skip both front & rear. I leave home for a drive in the evening and return home after the drive. I rarely park the car any where.

    Seats:

This is the most important part to not get wrong. I had Daytona seats before and I didn't like the comfort. I want a more flat surface. The sales advisor seemed to think the new standard seats are comfortable but in their configurator didn't seem to be flat.

    Tachometer:

    Red or yellow?

    Magneride:

Really wanted it as I didn't have it on my previous. However, sales advisor clarified that the T will have a suspension setting button on the steering as standard so that will be enough for me.

    Interior Alcantara pillar:

Looks good when you can actually see it while sitting in the car

    Wheels:

    20" Diamond Sport
Thought about the silver version of this as well but diamond finish does stand out quite well

    Stitch:

    Stitch in red exterior throughout
I didn't think about beige stitch on black parts and black stitch on beige parts
Seems is is simpler to order red throughout

Fire extinguisher & 20" Spare Wheel:
Mandatory options - not happy about this at all. I can digest the $1000 for the fire extinguisher as a safety consideration but come on I don't want a spare wheels for $2500. And if these are mandatory just include them in the base price!

sounds very nice .. I like the rosso Scuderia, and think it looks fine with couio however I would suggest that you go with Black carpet that really makes the interior pop. I had one with the couio carpet and was never happy with the look so on my next california I bought couio with black carpet and have been very happy with that look..
Regarding the camera it is up to you but I would strongly suggest the camera at least the rear camera ..
Of course my car is the california 30 so not really in a position to compare to the new T seats but I switched to diamond seats on my second california and like them much better then the daytonas ...

Love the f12 in the pictures by the way...

I agree that Rosso Scuderia looks great with Cuoio. If that's what you want then change your order, don't let the salesman decide how your car should be specced.

I've seem Cuoio coupled with a lot of combinations and have yet to see it look bad.

I would go with Cuoio, one of the nicest leather colours and perfect matching with red!

Agreed on both points, order what you like and really don't take too much notice of the sales person. Cuoio does look great with any red I think, its a nice rich colour which I think would look great for a Cali.

My white Cali30 has a cuoio interior and I love it but I think the beige interior will look better than cuoio with RScuderia because RS is a brighter red than RCorsa.

I think yellow calipers and tach would also work better and pick up the Scuderia shields, all of which fit in with a colourful F1 theme. Red calipers would get lost and may not match RS. I don't read the numbers off a tach when I'm driving. You would already have predetermined where the needle should be for each style of driving so you only glance to see approxinately where the needle is. I wouldn't worry about how legible a yellow dial is. There are good reasons why the yellow tach is the most popular.

I also think there are 2 ways to colour an FCar - make it look elegant or make it feel like an F1 occasion. The RScuderia is an F1 racing car colour so the latter theme works better.

I would also get the Magneride because it gives the car extra personalities. The front parking sensor in my car is next to useless if not dangerous. I've been lucky so far but it only takes one accident to ruin the finish. I would have jumped at buying a front camera.

A friend ordered a Scuderia Italia with cuoio. Looks great. I have corsa with beige. Trust me, the cuoio does not show the dirt like beige.

He also has yellow calipers. I prefer red or silver.

You need to at least get the rear camera. It will be mandatory in a few years. You don't want to be driving a new car that will soon not meet safety standard. It is going to be problematic by the time you want to sell the car.

I think you have a very tasteful spec.

I like heated seats because with the top down or on cold mornings or evenings, they warm you up.

Standard caliper color is actually very nice too. Give that a thought!

I prefer beige leather color with a red car over cuoio And I like the castoro carpet color over black too!

Probably the smallest detail but it is what you see all the time you are driving it, go for a white tach. I had a 2010 Cali and now have a 2012 both with yellow tachs. I later also bought an FF but it had a white tach and after seeing them all (saw red in a 438) any future Ferrari will have a white tach, they are MUCH easier to read.

Rick, can you elaborate or show pic? I've heard many people mention this and also that the yellow tach is not backlit at night ... Don't understand what color has to do with lighting.

The Cali tach is not coloured when it switches over to nighttime display. All the tachs look like the one below, regardless of what colour they are in daylight.

The nighttime display is excellent, very crisp and very easy on the eyes.

Sorry Joel, I simply haven't taken photos of my car for some time. I normally find myself in the wrong position for taking photos - kind of hard to do selfies from the driver's seat, constantly skirting the speed limits. :) I'll take new shots when I get my car back from service. They were supposed to finish my annual maintenance today but… they didn't.

Here are a couple of shots taken in the past. Cuoio goes really well with simple classic white. I opted to compliment the classic theme of the car's innate appeal and avoided all the carbon fibre options, which carry silly price tags anyway. Brushed aluminium details are beautiful in a classic car. I chose to cover everything in cuoio so as to complete the classic look. I've had no issues with glare.

Cuoio has a faint reddish ground which helps to draw and fix your eyes. Beige would have been too light and airy with a white exterior.

Whoa, hey now! White over Cuoio looks awesome! I'm a big fan of carbon fiber, but you really fine-tuned the interior - aluminum trim and white stitching in Cuoio leather looks great! It's almost as if carbon fiber would be out of place in there! Can I be a pest and inquire as to the VIN? I'd love to make a note of this car and its livery in my database.

    My take

    Interior:

Get the cuoio if you like it. There is nothing wrong with RS/Cuoio. Its classic Ferrari to go red/tan. Cuoio is kind of a darker tan. And beige is a lighter tan.

Calipers: Red. I dont like yellow calipers on a red car.

Camera: Strongly suggest you get at least the rear one.

Seats: Unknown. Suggest you look at the optional pattern on the seats. They will built a lot of these cars and when you do go to sell you might find some resistance if you have the basic seat. Of course you have to get whats most comfortable. FWIW, I hear the diamond stitch seats are very comfortable. You have to like the look though.

Tachometer: Purely subjective. I am partial to yellow though I would suggest you consider black. It works very well with the screens to either side which are mostly black background.

Magneride: This is a very advanced damper system. I suspect this will allow the car to drive both softer and harder than the standard damper. Perhaps the standard one is so good its not necessary but if it were me, I'd order it.

Interior Alcantara pillar: Agreed but in a convertible over time I could see this holding dirt from the air.

    Wheels:

    20" Diamond Sport- very nice!
    Stitch:

Stitch in red exterior throughout- very classic. Simply as an alternative, it can look very rich to have a beige/tan stitch on cuoio leather.

Fire extinguisher & 20" Spare Wheel:
Mandatory options - not happy about this at all. I can digest the $1000 for the fire extinguisher as a safety consideration but come on I don't want a spare wheels for $2500. And if these are mandatory just include them in the base price!

Agreed on the concept. However, if you ever need it, the spare wheel can be quite useful. The fire extinguisher is going to be mostly useless because if you see fire you will get out immediately and not bother taking the time to remove the extinguisher from its harness, IMHO all the fire extinguisher does is take up space. Good news is you can take both out and leave them in the garage.

Beautiful spec. One other thought, I would suggest you get the shields.
