Sorry for the multiple posts, the site kept rejecting the pics...Could not believe the amount of people that came by to say they had a poster of it on their wall back in the day. Many also thanked me for bring it out, glad I could share it

 

Very cool!!!! Never get tired of hearing it either. It's amazing how many of us had the same posters growing up. Such an honor to have one in our garage now!

very nice car and very clean euro look. I wonder how difficult it is to get these front bumbers now.

 

Don't know about the front bumper. George Evans (former owner) did the front
bumper conversion before I bought it from him, I did the rear euro conversion. I can say all parts are readily available for the rear though (but much is not required)

 

You have more than 1200 with just the QV (~610) and 25th (~657). The 2k number would be pretty accurate.

Just taking a quick look at the Lamborghini Registry, here are how the numbers break down. Of course we know how well Lamborghini tracked production numbers back in the day, so i'm sure most of us would agree that these are "approximate":

LP500 - 1
LP400 - 157
LP400S - 237
5000S - 321
5000QV - 610
25th - 657

Total production: 1983

Wonder how many have been destroyed over the years..... I think the bottom line is that there not many Countach's out there and it seems like today the demand is exceeding the supply.

my opinion is about less than 50 cars or less than 3%...

 

Well you can take (LP500 - 1) off the list, down to 1982.

I've seen these build numbers quoted before but what I've never seen is a breakdown of the 5000QV number, as to how many of the 610 were US 5000QV cars with impact bumpers/fuel injection & how many were 'Euro' DD carb 5000QV versions. Anyone know?

 

You have several different LP400S cars.

A pecking order exists.

S1 - cheap gauges
S1 - Jaeger gauges
Speciale - Greg's Argento car
S2
S3

 

So a '99 Diablo roadster (approx 150) is actually more rare than most Countach variants.....interesting.

Values, today: i just received an offer at 185 k Euro (256 k USD) and one at 190 k Euro (263 K USD), both were refused. I think 300 k USD (216 k Euro) is the target price for a very good looking car that requires no works, so i removed my ad and the car it's no longer for sale.

the 99 roadster and the 98 are VERY close beside the front lights and dash i do not see any differences

if we start splitting in every single variants the countach depending on few small changes we could be a LONG list of small variants and the countach would become again more rare

for example: early S1 with LP400 seat belts and steering wheel are a variants? if so these are may be 10 cars or so... same for early 5000S with campagnolo mag wheels...should we consider them a variant?

 

How about the bull emblem on the rear that was not on the 5000s prior to 1984

 

Actually, just the two changes you mentioned are HUGE differences....The poofy air bag in the '98 is just rediculous, detracts greatly from the look of the interior.

And over the course of 3 years, there were also power increases, changes in brakes, changes in ABS specs, changes in the back on the branding location.

The 98s have SOME of these things, but the '99 has all of them....which is quite a number of changes as compared to a seat belt and a steering wheel, so listing a '99 as a variant seems very correct.

Not trying to say a low production Diablo variant is more valuable than any Countach variant, just thought it was interesting.

 

if you go by this 300K usd for your car is underpriced. To me the offers made seem to reflect an increased but real value. but again in this market what is real anymore?

Things are totally out of control it seems. that car would have been $150K a few months ago.

I gave up for now looking for what I wanted. not an Italian but same crazy prices being thrown. I'd rather wait until the smoke settles. this is just too much too fast.

 

This BB512 looks fantastic, but (all) prices are out of control: here a 911 3.2 Speedster is at 110-120 k euro!!.
