So the early reviews are in, and the conclusion (quite unanimous it seems) is : amidst some pretty respectable competition, LaFerrari isn't just a home-run ... it's an out-of-the-park, cover-off-the-ball home-run !!!!

    Fantastic, thanks.

If anyone has a copy in their hands, would you mind sharing some of the text or final verdict? I will check the evo app on my iPad later.

So happy for the reviews its getting, was getting almost nervous following good job Porsche and Mcl have done and abscence of LaFerrari reviews.

Anyway seems like all 3 cars are phenomenal in their own right but I got to say I like Porsche 918 the best.

Actually, the (un-official) weight figures that circulated originally (1255 kg) seems confirmed.
The Autocar comparison (Ferrari LaFerrari vs McLaren P1 vs Porsche 918 Spyder | Autocar) shows: LaFerrari: Kerb weight 1255kg (dry), 1345kg (approx) with fluids, Power to weight 707bhp/tonne (with fluids); P1: Kerb weight 1450kg; Power to weight 623bhp per tonne.
Chris Harris mentioned 2954 lbs, wet (1340 kg) for LF in his comments.
Still no official figures in the Ferrari website.

So, did anyone notice that the LaF in these videos doesnt sound as good as that naked carbon/black Laferrari seen at the ring last week?? IT's too bad because the black car sounds perfect.

There must be a press release issued to the journos lying around somewhere.

Two things; absolutely brilliant idea to incorporate the seats into the tub; and the ingress/egress idea with the door sills. And this:from Harris

I love the way Ferrari decided to effectively automate the driving process—there's active aero constantly juggling downforce levels, an electronic diff, and lord knows what else, but the driver just drives. No boost buttons, no DRS, just concentrate and drive. And you need to, because the LaFerrari is just so damned fast.

I read this too, and I agree. These cars driven aggresively are so fast, they must demand so much concentration there can't be much brain capacity left to fiddle with boost buttons etc.

Cars at the ring always sound better ; )

I think its mostly due to environment and recording equipment.. but the black one could have a different exhaust system on it.

Exactly. It is all about echo and recording. In certain takes the red cars sound like the black one.

When do U.S. deliveries start? I honestly haven't been this 'giddy' over a new Ferrari in a long time............

I dont think so. All red cars around Fiorano and those seen in Monaco or even in Monza have sounded the same, nice but not amazing. Then we have the video of the black car at the ring which sounds much more brutal.

The car sounds more visceral. I think the exhaust is diff as you say and hope it can be ordered on the road car.

The car is on schedule. At least one is planned for the Challenge race in California later next month in May.

I bit more "crisp" and it does sound launder... but it would all be speculation really, we have no idea if there is something different in there.

    Why were they pissed ?

It has to do with the terrain and the fact that the observer was stationary.

many Enzo owners change exhaust system in their cars because factory sound was not enough good, I think the same will happens with LaF

You never heard about his rant against ferrari for using ringers during press events? He was reportedly persona non grata at ferrari press events/ new car test drives for the past few years. Now he's one of the first reviewers to report on laferrari so I guess his ban is officially over.
