All the article says is they denied the interview. It didn't really speak to the accuracy of the story.
I heard yesterday that one of Michael's eyes remains closed but that he is scanning with the other. Not sure which eye nor validity of the rumor.
Last weekend, i had spent some time with my childhood friends doing some charity. We travelled to the outskirts of the city, brought food, played and made friends with poor people, poor families and kids. There was this family where this person had a fall at work, resulting him in a coma. He had 2 surgeries to his head. I visited him, and it seems that about 6 months ago, he was very deep in coma. However, now, with some physio and prayers, lots of prayers, he's on the road to recovery. He's still bedridden, but awake, and can move his eyes around. Seeing him made me think of my hero, lying in Grenoble now. The fact that the family, although so poor, have faith, and prayed a lot, and still remain positive about this person's recovery, brought lots of hope to me. If any person can pull through this, Michael is the man. Everyone is waiting for the epic win number 92. Patiently.
I had a conversation yesterday with a gentleman who is a close personal friend of a well known member of the Ferrari F1 Team. I have no reason to doubt his word but I will say upfront that I was in his company only twice before yesterday. He did show me numerous pictures of himself right in the stable with Luca, MS, Alonso, Eccelstone. Kimmi is his close friend. Again, I believe that his word is accurate as I have no reason to doubt him. We spoke at length about MS and he told me that the situation is very grim. Michael weighs only 103lbs and is unresponsive and still in a coma. He is still on life support. Michael opened one eye a while ago but nothing more. Among the people around him here is little hope for his recovery. Please don't flame me for hearsay....I am only reporting what I heard from someone who I believe to be a reliable source. I hope this is not true but unfortunately it seems to be. Pray for Michael
I'm going to stick with what Sabine says... His weight is not unsurprising, little muscle activity and he's not a tall person by any means. I'm no doctor, but him opening an eye is *something*, and to me suggest he is trying. It's a grim situation and I feel for his wife and kids, but I'm keeping my hopes up. I've heard of too many stories of people in a similar situation (I'm aware each case is different) and 6 months, 12 months or whatever period in, suddenly woke up and some recovered to 95%+ of their previous self. Come on Michael!
I've heard the rumors too. Feel for the guy. No matter how famous or how much money - it all does not matter when you you are ill. I hope the best for him and his family. has to be hard for his wife and kids. I was discussing this with a neuro surgeon just the other day, and he was speculating that if this was a normal person ( meaning not in super physical conditionl like Michael ) the atrophy alone can be catastrophic.
This may be the point at which the neurosureons, neurologists,ICU interventionists and all the other ists walk away. Read my posts on the other blog about Michael; there are situations worse than death. Thats why a knowledgable physician with Michaels interest at heart knows when to say enough.
Same here! I haven't given up hope and I pray for 100% recovery. 103lbs for a 5'8" male would resemble a stage 4 cancer patient, so that weight loss must make Michael look gravely ill. I am not a doctor but things don't look good for him but like everyone else here I hope for the best
I keep checking this thread waiting to hear the bad news, almost like I'm expecting the announcement I don't want to hear. Forgive me but I think I have lost hope for the miracle to happen. Sad
I read that its more than likely he"ll be a vegtable. so sad for such a legend. we keep praying for the great man god bless
Yes, The situation has grown grim. I feel they just won't pull the plug. With hope, just maybe he may pull it off. Miracles do happen, and I think we need a miracle on this one!
Fab, I very much fear that I agree with you and Dr. Andrew. A time comes when it has to be clear to the physicians that there is nothing left of this magnificent man but the 'living' shell.
If he is on a ventilator then I think the plug should have been pulled a long time ago. I thought the only reason they were holding out hope was because he was breathing on his own. If this is not the case then let the guy rest in peace already. There are fates much worse than death. Keeping him alive this long by artificial means seems to be the unloving, and frankly, selfish thing to do in my opinion.
