Operation "Bring her home" is in full planning mode. Success appears imminent. I will have boots on the ground on Monday night of next week and hopefully be on my way home on Wednesday!!!!!

FYI. I wanted to post a few other sales people I was working with who I also enjoyed speaking to transparently about the market, cars, etc. The entire process really was great; albeit a little exhausting simply due to the sheer volume of conversations and questions!

If people are looking for Scuds, I highly recommend giving these guys a call:

Has a beautiful Rossa Corsa Scud; low miles:

Has a beautiful Griogio Medio Scud; low miles. I really, really like this color:

    Chris Anderson (CA)

Has a black one with some tinted lights I did not care for personally, but Chris was very responsive and helpful about the car. The car has a brand new clearcoat over all of it to correct some etchings in the clearcoat apparently and looks great per Chris. Tails can be easily swapped. I believe the front headlights would need to be wetsanded or replaced if you don't like the look.

Has the red one with higher miles I was original interested in and spoke about earlier in this thread. It is not officially posted yet! Rossa Corsa; black wheels; silver calipers - looked very nice. Arizona Italian said the calculator placed it in the 150s or 160s. PM me for pics in advance of their add being posted!

Another good looking Rossa Corsa. Don't have too many details on it, was just getting started looking:

Is taking delivery of a new red one any day now - give him a call!

I hope this helps some people find their Scuds!!

    Slept 4 hours last night : )

Damn! This is the color (maybe the car) I was hoping to buy last year. I love my Silverstone scud, but Grigio Medio is just so cool. I want my next Ferrari to be in Grigio Medio.

    Yes!

    Preparing!

I like it a lot. If it had a painted stripe, I would have pursued it more aggressively! On the other hand, since I hope to keep this Scud forever, I wanted the competition colors - red. My 308 is yellow, so did not want another yellow car.

I like Silverstone a lot also. The wheels and highlights on my X5 are actually custom painted Silverstone : )

    Mainly rte 66.

Flying out tomorrow and will start the journey on Wednesday. Wish me luck!

but you have to add 15k for stripes and it a 08, so it would be a over 200k car if it was Red and had stripes

No it would not. You can see the list of people I spoke to on the page. Not one of them was asking more than 189k LIST for any of the cars. Several were red, with stripes, and under 4k miles.

It use to be a 300k car; you need to accept that and move on.

Here are some pics from today. Ferrari of San Francisco is an amazing setting...right on the water, separate building for Maserati, full service center down the road. Just awesome. Got to see the challenge cars being loaded up from their event this past weekend and got to tour their shop as well which was very impressive and extremely large for a Ferrari service center. Everyone I met was not only an employee, but also a car enthusiast. I can't speak highly enough about the whole experience.

Unfortunately, due to some not-so-awesome issues with buying cars in California from PA, the car cannot be driven out of the state. So I will have the car picked up tomorrow. Fear not though - videos and pics coming as soon as I can manage. I will be driving it very soon and very hard!

Yeah, that doesn't surprise me...I've picked up cars just over the Nevada before border too (one's that I bought in CA dealer but were intended for WY registration).

    What was your solution?

    Btw, car looks great!

Thanks man! I'm use to clear-bras not looking quite as good as paint, but this looks excellent. The only seams are toward the rear of the car and they are not very noticeable. This is the Xpel product and Ferrari of San Fran even included the cleaner and polish with it. The thing is so clean, even the exhaust outlets look brand new. Really stunning.

Yup - that is the deal with CA - you must have it delivered to another state.

Congrats - looks great! So, are you taking delivery right across border and driving from there :) or is road trip cancelled? That would be a real bummer...

Nonono - absolutely cannot drive it off the lot - or anywhere in the state. In fact, I don't think you can even drive it back within a year. Yes, still have a roadtrip planned for the car.

    ..and thanks!

Another Scud off my list well done! I love this one.
I'm about 2 months away and these cars are selling too quickly.

Ha! Thanks! I was supposed to be 6-12months away...then the new car madness grabbed me and it was over! This is one case where I'm glad I was weak-willed.

Based on about 1-2 months of intensive research, there seems to be a decent supply coming and going in the market and the prices are fairly stable.

So what's the deal here? If you buy a CA car from out of state you can't drive it away???

Looks like it's a pretty drive btw.

You can drive it away, but will have to register and pay sales tax in CA. So...you have it shipped out of state and then register it back home. CA sucks that way (and others). And, you can't even move a car into CA within a year of buying it without having to pay CA sales tax. I really hope I don't have to move back there for a job again...
