Well they have been brainwashed. Peloton25 aka Erik Reynolds has on at least one occasion been flown to a McLaren event at McLaren's cost. Says something about objectivity, doesn't it?

Let this post be the final OT post. Whatever arguments you have or arguments you are in, they end now with this post. I don't care who gets the last word.

From now on, we only post the following:

    - Reviews
    - Snippets from reviews
    - Comments about the reviews
    - Relevant information concerning journalists
    - Stories regarding upcoming or past reviews

    What we don't post:

    - Anything that resembles ****** measuring contest
    - Pathetic rants about much of a failure LaF is and that the car will never get in the hands of customers or meet it's claimed performance figures.
    - General discussion of the car(s)
    - Any use of the word Nürburgring unless it's quoted from a review.

I hate having to be such a nazi, but I want the thread I started to stay on topic. You can all help keeping this thread in line by ignoring the provocateurs.

Actually you did nothing of that sort. We are willing to discuss what the reviewers are saying, just not stupid rumours or conjectures.

Can you edit the original post to include links to all of the reviews so far? Would be a handy resource in future to have all of the video reviews in one post as opposed to searching through 16 pages (and counting) of discussion

does that mean we cant ask why la ferrari dives under braking and squats under acceleration and rolls while cornering like my 550?

and so please, lets stay on topic

I don't believe it's possible to edit a post after a couple of hours. Would be very handy indeed. I will see what I can do though.

Unfortunately no. You can ask that question in the dedicated thread for LaF discussion. That sort of question is a typical ignition for the provocateurs to come out and derail the thread.

Ferrari: "Sir, the car originally sounded awesome - epic really- and passed all European standards, but we don't want you to have to lift at certain race tracks, so we exchanged the motor with a turbo charged V8 that gets on well but sounds rather pedestrian. Enjoy!"

You say you have this from the highest authority, but you expect me to believe that Ferrari - despite running the car at Fiorano over and over - is attempting to ignore battery cooling issues? They handed the keys to a bunch of journalists and let them have at it... and no one seemed to have ANYTHING negative to say? Hmm?

I could not disagree more. I haven't felt this way about a car since I was a kid. I have gone cold turkey on the Ferrari Koolaid, I don't buy the hype, the F1 team is struggling, but great googley moogley this thing is just spectacular.

    MORE VIDEO LINKS PLEASE!!!!

I did, but you weren't paying attention probably? Anyway, I mentioned that it had a brake-feel issue while driving at normal speeds on the road. And the steering lacked some feel and didn't provide enough feedback to the driver, also on the road.

Both points were raised in one or two reviews so far. I don't think all reviewers had the pleasure to drive the car on the road yet? :)

Only one journalist criticized the steering, and if I remember correctly his credibility in the review was not very high. The steering was praised by the others when they were driving on the public road. I think all of them have driven on the public road, as it's part of the schedule that Ferrari arranges when they have test drives.

Let me once again share a few quotes from the highly respected (and no BS attitude) Chris Harris:

I don't remember the F12 or the 458 being praised for their steering "connection". The fact that it was mentioned in one review makes it credible to be included in this thread - or not?

Anyway, let's end this here. Didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings.

This is exactly why I asked what is different about the cars the journalists were given to test and when the owners who have already received their cars can expect to see these changes.

To the rest of you - if you are calling me wrong on the grounds of being a fan boy to make yourselves feel better then you are also calling toolfan/Michael wrong and he's on "your side". If all is right in the world of LaFerrari then why are the US and UK deliveries delayed and why hasn't it received all of its certifications yet from the US EPA that it will need to be sold here?

Actually all reviewers drove the cars both on the road and at the track. Only one or two raised these concerns, which make me sceptical. Either they are better reviewers than the rest of the pack, or they don't know what the are talking about. I have to admit that Chilton of CAR Magazine is a very experienced bloke, thus I hear what he said about the brake feel, even though he is not a renowned expert driver like Ben Barry of the same publication. That other bloke from C&D though is a total imbecile; he wrote that the car has an electrically assisted rack and doesn't have magnerorheological dumpers, both of which are unacceptable mistakes.

You know what I find funny about him? The fact that he always writes in the first person perspective, like he has driven the car himself.

"The steering lacks feel", "it drives like a faster 458 and doesn't have it's own personality", "I mentioned that it had a brake feel issue while driving at normal speeds on the road" etc. etc.

It's like he has driven the car extensively already! Automotive journalists are people, they function the same way as film critics. Don't take their word for granted, and remember that what you read/hear is their opinion, not yours. Because you haven't driven the car. Many of us know from experience which journalists we are most "in tune" with and trust them more, but that doesn't mean everything they say translates to our own experience. If you want to quote or post an opinion or driving impression on the car, then post it as someone else's statement and not your own.

Summa summarum, the car is getting rave reviews and the fanboys can't stand it because they have a fundemental dislike for the car.

Michael doesn't rant about hearsay and laughable rumours. Nobody here is denying that LaF is still in development. But we are not going to the lengths of you and your friends of unreasonably bashing the car to no end as well as provoking by making libellious comments.

We know you love the P1, nobody is denying you from doing that. But just because you have that status it doesn't entitle you or any other part of your company to being punks in the LaF section. Should 3-5 FChatters register at McLarenLife and derail and take a dump on all your threads?

Oh well, most reviewers said that it drives like a 458, not making things up. And I've mentioned more than once the sources of the other claims, don't think I have to do it repeatedly.

but what you keep failing to mention is that those reviewers take it as a good thing. Driving like a 458 means that it has fantastic drivingcharacteristics. It one thing to make a insanely powerful car. It is quite another to make all that power truly accessible through superior drivingcharacterics.

Topgear calles it the ultimate Ferrari, worthy of it's name.

    EVO calls it 'a miracle'

Chris Harris calls it a triumph.

And Harris said the P1 drives like a 12C...............if you don't want to be attacked as just another fanboy, try quoting the full statement; LaFerrari feels like a 458 'at normal speeds'; and the P1 feels like a 12C 'at normal speeds'.............not word for word quotes, but that's what was implied in both cases.
