Ferrari LaFerrari vs Mclaren P1 vs Porsche 918

I find it very odd that someone who is as hugely successful as Paul Orwicz (aka Lone Wolf) - someone that has achieved such vast wealth that he can afford to spend $1M+ on a car - gets his kicks out of trolling on an internet forum, much like a socially awkward teenager. He could be doing things most people will only ever be able to dream of with his time but, for whatever reason, he chooses to spend hours on end behind a keyboard posting on a Ferrari fan forum, purely trying to get a reaction out of other grown men.

It's interesting what people get up to when no one is looking.

Peculiar indeed. Would be fun to have Louis Theroux do a segment on the subject. Find a couple of them and call it "The Millionaire Lurkers" or "Trolls With Dough". As a last resort; "Doughtrolls".

It took me a bit to get it, until I realized he paid money for a P1. All this raving just sounds like someone trying to justify to themselves that they made the right choice...
When the P1 came out I was skeptical the LaF could measure up, though I have always said a turbo V8 has no place in a million dollar car. But now... eh gads I would be kicking myself for putting my eggs in the wrong basket. I might resort to bellowing about it on a Ferrari internet forum.

At the end of the day, LaF would not have been an option even for someone who had the money, as the demand for the car and the restrictions on who could purchase were clearly much more severe than those for the P1.

 

+1. He's just bitter. I think given the choice he would have taken the LF, but he didn't have the choice so he had to settle for the P1. The same can likely be said for quite a few P1 owners. 1% problems

Once upon a time Graham Hill told to his son Damon, that being at the back of the field puts you amongst a better class of people. It's the same with money sometimes...

 

there is more than one like this on here ( you know who). We all know the story about how he was converted into a hater of this brand. but the act of trolling really shows no class. it really discounts their credibility on comments about these cars even if they own a lot of them. it is really hard not see sense that bitterness in their totally biased rants on the brand that they seemingly hate that they wanted to love so much. it has got to be coming from a very abrupt rejection or a fundamentally inadequate personality, or both.

maybe money should be spent on getting a decent psychotherapist than on cars he continuously hates.

 

Unfortunately they will never get banned.....but if we all put them on ignore they might get bored to speak to themselves

I agree. I too will be honest and admit I am a little bitter with Ferrari who hand picked buyers for their car. Even if I was willing to pay up another 500k for the car they would not sell it to me. I've owned just two F cars to date so not in the elite club to buy a supercar. The P1 would have been my 2nd choice as I'm more confident in the long term demand for the LF and see the car not only for its enjoyment but for a non depreciating asset.

The thing that bugged me the most was that they supposedly hand picked their most loyal and best customers who would not sell the car right away. Meanwhile these loyal customers are selling them or pre-selling them? WTF

Some of those very wealthy owners don't like being told what they can and cannot do with their own property.

If they want to sell they sell, especially considering Ferrari's threat to ban those that do from future lists has proven to be an empty one in the past.

 

Please cease these personal attacks (ignorant, don't know how to drive, don't own any f-cars, teen-ager, troll, etc, etc). The discussion topic is the cars, a criticism of a car is not an attack on a user, until someone chooses to take it so. The use of the "ignore" feature is recommended if someone's posts are not to your taste.

It would be one thing if they sold the car and actually did get banned but the salt in the wound is they will be lined up again at the top of the list for the LF XXX and the LF successor in 10 years. Nice....

I think Ferrari may have some fans feeling less good about the brand with this practice. The right thing to do would be to put some bite into it and not only take these sellers off the supercar lists in the future but take them off any F car purchase list for 5 years and let perhaps a true enthusiast get their slot so they can enjoy the car firsthand and not just flip them out for a quick profit.

It's not an XX. As TOOLFAN pointed out, it's one of the test cars for amongst other things improving the efficiency of the cooling system.

I return briefly to tell you this. How can you judge two cars for the most of you, you 've never tried . Only Because one journalist as SS says things you hoped to hear ( the same as you criticize because he had said that the P1 was fantastic ) .
For the most of you, you get your opinion as through articles journalist who themselves can not be completely objective ( for fear of reprisals for example). Even if the Ferrari is undoubtedly a fantastic car , how can he say, for example, that ferrari is slightly faster than P1 when we know he test the La Ferrari several weeks later and under different conditions . Especially what I notice, he says the P1 has acceleration more explosive , it is his feeling. If he thinks the La Ferrari is fastest on strait line than the P1 or 918 as it thought that the P1 seemed to be as fast as a Formula 1, you can imagine the credibility… On the other hand all the experts say that P1 is a car born for the track more than any other . See again the expression on the face of the different journalists at the end of the test, the feeling of happiness . They have no voice . They were like children in front of the Christmas gifts . And that, whatever you say , you didn’t see this after testing the Laferrari . This is worth more than all the words . And I am the happiest man to have the chance to have a P1 . No matter what you think, this is the one I chose because it is what I was looking for . Bestial car with a twin-turbo and an electric motor that brings you feel that you never have with another . We must stop believing that everything revolves around ferrari and think we take the other cars because they can not have the Laferrari .
I can offer to anyone who wishes to make a lap in P1 to realize that there is not only ferrari (even if it is a fantastic brand that filled my childhood dreams ) and you might be surprised that the P1 can be as fantastic as the Laferrari and provide even more excitement on the track.
