I have a single assembled and ready to install circuit board left from the first test batch, if anyone would like to help testing and needs a Speedo replacement board for one of the green marked cars in post #43 let me know and i'll mail you one (free of charge as a thank you for being part of the test team).

The installed test boards run fine without any defects/issues so far (and i don't expect any future issues at this point). One board was used to convert an US mph Speedo to kmh, also works fine.

    Best,
    Adrian

Robert, sorry, i just realized that you have a QV. The current Speedo board is only for the earlier cars, i don't have started on the board for the QV yet.

Anastasio, send me your postal address via mail and i'll send you a board. You need to disassemble your Speedo and do a bit of soldering. The test board is free of charge, but i need you to install it and give me feedback how it works and if you found any issues. If you like it you can still pay for the final board when it's released.

    Cheers,
    Adrian

    John,

the Type 1 board has been finalized and tested, all fine. I haven't had time to have a batch produced yet, not sure about the interest/demand? If you need a board i can build one for you though.

    Cheers,
    Adrian

Ahhh. You may not be so confident in my soldering skills if you saw my last attempt to fix it. Now I must fix my fix (mostly this involves repairing the plastic cover that i carved a bit to fix the leads). I didn't do so well in electronics class 35 years ago. Mostly spent my time blowing up old capacitors.

I would still like a speedo board as a spare.

I'll pull the unit late next week and take a gander.

    Thanks
    John

Quick update, the circuit boards are currently in production and i've found a company for the component assembly, which has a fully automated assembly and test environment and fair prices (even though its all "made in germany ;-)

Mentioned this in your headlight post, Adrian, but didn't want to hijack it. I've more or less confirmed that the sender is the problem in my QV.

Do you know what it's meant to look like inside? I think I might pull it out and have a crack at it, if it's straight forward.

I haven't opened a type 2 sensor yet, the circuit should be somewhat similar the type 1 sensor.
