I am told the bolt pattern is "the same." Does the 360 engine mate to the 355 tranny and will the 360 crank receive the 355 tranny input shaft?

    Much thanks!!!

The crank flange is different as on the 360, the flywheel attaches to the crank while on the 355 the crank is connected to a prop shaft that goes through the trans and engages the clutch on the backside of the trans. As to how different they are and how difficult it would be to mate the 360 crank to the prop shaft, dunno, I just know they're different.

Pretty sure the 355 crank has the holes for a flywheel even though they are not used, so the reverse situation may work but the 360 crank would need the splines inside the nose in order for the output shaft from the 355 gearbox to mate to it, and at a guess it has a steady bearing instead for the output shaft of the 360 box

I will take a few pics next week of the adapter and email to you if your going to proceed with this insanity.
