Im speccing my car, and the stereo is 2400 euros plus weight.

I never turned the stereo on in my strads or scuds.

Is it a resale mistake to omit the stereo?

Question 2 - the luggage space looks small, does the 20 inch spare fit?

Fyi this is rhd for new zealand
    Thanks

In the US it's a bit confusing because the Speciale includes in the base price the audio system, telemetry, SAT radio and NAV. we've had people here try to sort out these details with their dealers and it seems that we can de-select the audio system, SAT and NAV. But we cannot de-select telemetry (sorting this out with ferrari is like herding cats). To add to the confusion, when you read about the telemetry option it says that it's integrated with the audio system. So this would seem to imply that you can't have telemetry without the audio system. And since the telemetry option uses GPS then the car will come with that small aerial on the roof. If US cars have to have telemetry (with integrated audio system) then we may as well get SAT and NAV...I guess :)

But if you have the option of actually choosing audio, SAT, telemetry and NAV. I personally would not have any of these options. How could anybody even begin to use a radio in a Speciale? And the bulk$hit NAV is worthless. I'll use my iPhone if I need directions. I have two stradales, and no radios or NAV :)

    Thanks Rick,

On the south island theres no dealer for 800 miles except ferry across cross the strait up in Auckland on the north island so if youre down south the spare could be handy, although we would need to wash our underwear every day to fit some clothes in.... 2600 euro seems alot though, i wonder if i can get a wheel that fits for less.

I think i recall you were a strad man, back in 04-06 when i owned a bunch of them...then scuds which were an improvement.
I will be interested to see if the speciale is as much fun
    Cheers

I've been off fchat for years. Good memory :) I bought two stradales in 2004 :) love them. Still have them. But I'm going to trade-in my yellow one to the dealer so I can grab a Speciale :)

2600 euros sounds high for a spare tire, but I bet it would cost about the same if you purchased a wheel and tire separately.

I didn't select the stereo. Not only is the audio quality iffy at best, the speakers looks both cheap and ugly and mess up the sweet CF door panels, IMHO!

See picture below and make up your own mind...

Been having the same issue. In Australia it's a $6.2k option (radio and sat nav). Have both in the 458 and never used the sat nav and only ever listen to my own iPod plugged into the thing. I have been investigating other options and have come across a Bose Soundlink, Jawbone Max Jambox or Dr Dre Pill v2. All of these are Bluetooth speakers of good quality with between 8 and 14 hrs battery life. All portable and can be either fixed to the parcel shelf or just secured in the netting. All cost about $400.

This is the way I am leaning as who knows what AV will be like in 3 - 5 years.

My Auckland dealer is throwing in a full size spare gratis, still grinding to see who wins the order.

Strads are a wonderful thing. I sat on my ass last fall when i couldve bought a 13k miles argento RHD for 139k pounds. A 3 k mile red is now 200 k pounds (in UK then i pay to ship and GST) Wow, theyre back. I always wanted a non US strad with all the HP. But the speciale should assuage my loss!

Glad youre keeping one. I loved those strads

No aerial on the roof in Europe. Don't know why you have to have that in NA...

If you choose telemetry or NAV or SAT radio in europe wouldn't you get the aerial on the roof?

For some reason the US Speciale "base price" includes telemetry, audio system, SAT radio and NAV as "no charge" options. Some guys here have discussed this with their dealers and have gotten different answers. But it seems that we can "de-select" any of these options except telemetry for some reason (probably so the NSA can spy on us more than they already do). It's difficult to sort out issues like this with dealers in the US. I'm going to try to find someone at the factory to sort this out.

There's no Sat-radio in Europe. And the GPS-Antenna is hidden somewhere...

Ahhhh. I just assumed the small aerial on the roof was for the NAV (GPS) and SAT radio...

Obviously there is an internal solution for Europe... I don't know why you need to have it externally...

The 'Antenna' on the roof is the optional SDARS (Satellite Digital Audio Radio Services) antenna that is available for USA and Canada only.

Do you know if you can have the stereo fitted by a dealer as an option. I believe you can with items like the camera?

Do you know where the antenna for the telemetry and NAV options is that located?
