Great car C7 is damn tempting.... But even if Ferrari did use one LaF for the track and another for the road, it would be no different from the other manufacturers. The 918 Spyder drives were on track only. P1 was not even a production car. For regular test drives it's much the same. Jaguar, Porsche, McLaren, BMW, Audi, Nissan etc. they all commonly practice a split scheme.
Funny how you don't pay attention at all. Indeed, it is the same car (XP7). The only other P1 that was present alongside XP7 is PP3, which is the one EVO tested.
Tested LaFerrari were differently only in details (belts, interior color, exhaust system). LaFerrari which was in videos on Fiorano, has got 4-point safety belts, titanium exhaust system and leather parts in interior was red AND when was LaFerrari tested on normal roads it is LaFerrari with normal safety belts, normal exhaust system and leather parts in interior was black ...
Why is it that nobody puts a vbox on any of these cars, p1 , 918 or Laferrari? Except Carlos Lagos from motor trend snuck off a put on e on the P1 and actually gave us hard numbers on a damp runway.
ALL tested LaFerrari was identical like production LaFerrari....THE SAME IN ALL LIKE, productions LaFerrari
I just posted it in the P1, 918, LaFerrari thread. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?p=143099177
The review from automotorundsport scanned on germancarforum quote the laferrari 3 on 4 only.someone can translate what they have said ?
Well, the author marked it 'down' as it will need a talented driver to fully exploit it's potential when all electronic aids are switched off, then, so AMS, the responses are not completely benign. Hmm, it is a point of view that seems to contradict Autocar's Steve Sutcliffe's (rhetorical) question whether a car of such performance should be controlled as easily as the LaFerrari...says may be more about the reviewer's talent than about the car.
Perhaps Sutcliffe never turned the electronics off completely. It is a well known fact that Ferraris are temperamental with everything off, as it is only natural with so much power on two wheels and a super agile chassis. A 1000 hp beast will never be friendly when provoked without the safety of a strong leash. That is akin to saying that a hungry lion outside its cage is dangerous. No kidding Einstein!!!
...Says may be more about reviewer's german belief in national superiority. 4 stars are for 918. Bet on it?
Autocar, Evo and Car all tried the car in CST OFF mode. You betcha Harris did too. (for reference they were all unison in their praise of the cars driveability) As noted above, says more about the journalist in question's skills and lack of objectivity than the car. A talented driver to exploit it's potential? Well duh, it's a 950 hp hypercar. If you want to drive it fast with all the aids deactivated you are going to need some skill. That's why the car has driver aids - assisting the driver in making him safer and faster. If you are skilled enough, turn them off - it appears he wasn't.
Is anyone here talented enough to fully exploit a 900HP RWD hypercar at the limit with all the electronic aids disabled?
It's also interesting to note that the reported weight by AMuS is 1,430kg. Oh well, guess we should be used to this by now.
Used to what? You pontificating negative and derogatory remarks about anything related to Ferrari? Wait for all three cars to be weighed and tested independently and get back to day-dreaming about being Ron Dennis' rent boy.
Also, just noticed in the same article, it says the car generates between 50 kg and 230 kg of downforce at 200 kph. Sounds more plausible than the 90-360 kg claim. Google Translate is working brilliantly.
Obviously AMUS are talking out their arses, as per usual. They didn't weigh the car, nor did they take it to a full size wind tunnel. Given that all other publications state different figures, it is evident that the Geries decided to distort the official facts given to them. Nothing new of course for one of the worst and most partisan publications in the world. By the way, I am going to publish on a blog that the P1 weighs 1783 kg and produces 20 kg of lift at 124 mph. I guess you will have to believe those numbers too now since you believe any random absurdity in general.
Looking the vidéo from ams, just notice the driver achieve 270 km/h at the end of the straight part of fiorano!it´s 20 km/h more than the enzo.(confirmed by him in the article).considering how demanding Is fiorano in terms of set up,surely this car doesńt deserve the maximum quotation..
You haven't been that much of a reliable source in the past, so no. Just because you don't like what was said, does not make it "any random absurdity."
Get your facts straight mate. I am not a source, I am not a journo. AMUS though is a publication and a very unreliable one at that. Are you aware of the Fiat Bravo scandal*? At any rate, they have reported falsified data, as they contradict those of all other publications even though they were all told the same things!!! *AMUS reported that the Fiat Bravo had dangerous brakes and that it overshot the runway where they were conducting performance tests. To that end they published a pucture of the front disks of said Fiat, where they pointed out that they were small. It turned out that it was a photograph of the disks of a Toyota Corolla and that the whole thing was a scam. The rag was humiliated by publishing an apology. PS: Your hatred for Ferrari is really ridiculous.
It happens once... twice... but not every time and certainly (I hope so) not in a LaFerrari review. Autocar have reported **** loads of wrong info before. Not of that scale, obviously. I don't hate Ferrari, I just dislike the fact that some of you ignore* a few obvious things simply because they're negative.
