I think it will be much quicker actually. It would be as quick with just the 72... Whatever horse power alone but with 903? That's a big advantage. Hence why McLaren said it best the gt3 by 6 seconds on cataluna.

And it was slower in the MT test, it is the one that counts until Autocar test the 918.

It also got 1.07g on the skidpad (R&T) while P1 got 1.22g.

From what i saw, MT didn't made a proper "test" of the P1 - just a drive and a run with some portable Vbox or something. Right?
918 on the other hand, had two measures - MT and R&T. Both with very consistent performance data!

Speculating, you cut seconds of lap time like it is a piece of bread))) Once again, could do, possible to do, maybe and so on. Lets DO!) You know, in Russia we have a great joke, if grandma had a ..... she would be a grandpa;)

A credible source also told me McLaren ran on slicks at the Nürburgring. By a credible source I mean one of the senior figures in the European automotive industry.

HP alone doesn't matter - matters suspension, weight distribution, center of gravity and Weight/aero/HP. P1 cannot be compared to race cars, not possible. Even with slicks. Never compare race cars and road cars.

According to the same Autocar, P1 is only 1,8sec quicker than 12C from 2011... :)
Did McLaren sent the "wrong" car this time? :)

MT and R&T both tested the Veyron SS and they both got similar results, while Autocar were way off. It all depends on how the test was conducted.

Don't worry, it is one of the few test cars (prototypes) that were tested by everyone else.

The track is so short, and there were "two damp patches; one in a high-speed bend, the other in a heavy braking zone." Didn't you read the article?

Do you have pictures of the patches to analyze them?

Go ahead and contact the moderators mate, I'd be more than happy to have a chat with them about your behaviour on the forum. You're not fooling anyone Marky, you're not nearly as clever as you'd like to think.

No, maybe I'll teleport you straight to the track! :D Seriously, it was mentioned in the article. If the patches haven't made a difference, they wouldn't have mentioned it.

Why not report my post (which I never posted on this forum) then? Would love to take a break. Trust me I'll happily contact the mods when I think it's right to do so, unlike you.

Guess we should stop this, since it has nothing to do with the topic of the thread. You might want to chat on Facebook since you were really interested to look up my timeline? :) Awaiting your friend request.

Patches, Curbs, Next Tuesday, The Tuesday after next Tuesday, 6,35, 6,47, of course we did, it is dangerous, it is wet, 5G, 2G, bla bla bla...

What do you want to prove? Live with the fact that Mr. Dennis let you to believe in something that doesn't exist in this form...

Judging by these times from Autocar track (and comparison to Atom and Radical) I would guess the absolute best it can go around Top Gear track is 1:12ish.

And btw these times are definitely not enough for it to break Porsches Ring record by noticable margin. Think you guys got a little ahead of yourself.

They should. You're a shame for the entire Mclaren communauty.
And we are tired of you here.
    Capisce?

(Reading your posts here and in other forums talks a lot about your fanaticism and intolerance)

I wonder what you guys would say if it were the Porsche or the laferrari? My point is we (p1 fans and other honest car lovers) honestly feel and know the P1 can definitely go faster. Something didn't seem right. So when we read that there were damp patches on the track (in very important places) we knew that must have been the reason. That also tells us two things: the track was still green (slightly damp and slippery) and that unless the other cars were in the same conditions this test isn't completely fair. IMO, what this tells me is that they were so impatient to get a good test in that they said we can't wait. That's why the felt the need to mention the dry patches. Because someone may post there own test and show something much faster. Who knows. I honestly would defend the Porsche and Ferrari the same way as well. Competitions are meaningless if it isn't a level playing field.

I know, right? Next time I point out a negative comment about a Ferrari please ignore it, because some of you are exaggerating things for no reason.

Oh I have nothing against P1, on contrary, I think its absolutely amazing car. I just said you guys have to keep expectation in check. Going 1:12ish around TopGear track would be great result for any car and fan except some of you who think more in line with 1:6-1:7 and 6:30ish lap which is borderline nuts. They arent making track version for nothing.

Now I can see a reason why McL didnt want TG to test it with 918 few months ago. It would probably lose if there was even few puddles of water on track.
