Took my 2011 Boxster S out of winter storage and two tires were low. Turns out the valve stems were leaking (bubbles slowly coming out of the valve). Tightened the stems. No bubbles. the tires seem to be holding air.

the TPMS shows proper air in all 4 tires. Yet the low tire light is still on. Have tried to reset the system...summer tires...18" but the yellow light and message is still on. and drove for about 7 miles.

A manual check of the tires with a gauge shows the tires are at proper pressure. 30 lbs front, 31 lbs rear.

    Any suggestions?

going in next week for the annual service.

They are a serious bugger to reset. Perhaps the worst out there. Keep driving the car. You may have to go through a couple of rests to get it to go.

    I will keep trying.

New sensor should be covered under warranty...but I would think if it is a sensor how could it give me the correct pressure on each tire?

It should be covered no matter what is wrong.

What did you find out Phil? I have '13 S and the tpms display has never corresponded to a manual check with tire gauge. Stevinson said ignore the tire gauge reading. Lol

Its been raining here so we haven't taken the convertibles out.

Meanwhile Stevinson (on Broadway) are not the sharpest pencils in the box. I would say lame. ;)

Have you tried going into the Systems Messages menu from the column mounted stalk and resetting?

I would be surprised if that didn't fix it.

I had exactly the same issue when I got some new tyres for a VW Golf. The tyre pressure warning light would not go out.

Now I'm not saying this is exactly the same problem that you have but I would suggest it is. Although the procedure for resetting from VW to Porsche might be different.

Whilst not a Porsche, but a VW the solution must be in the car somewhere.

FWIW, this is how to reset on a VW Golf. It worked for me immediately.

Skip through to the 1:25 minute mark.

    Good luck. :)

The light went out and the tire pressures are reading OK.

Hint: turns out you have to reset the tire type (summer or winter) and reset the tire size (17,18 or 19) and then DRIVE THE CAR FOR A FEW MILES for the system to recalibrate itself.

    Thanks guys for your help.
