I have a chance to purchase a Ferrari, which is currently in Las Vegas, NV.

If I purchase this car I will need to transport it from Las Vegas, NV to the San Francisco Bay Area. I am trying to determine what the transportation cost would be, if I buy this car.

    Thanks''

If you do not want to drive it call one of the auto transport companies that carry cars in enclosed carriers.. There are many good one.. for example interstate , or reliable , or Sundays auto transport...

Fly in on Friday afternoon, spend friday and saturday weekend. Either drive via LA and on the PCH (700 miles) or I95, through death Valley onto the 395 and then Stanislaus National Forest (600 miles). Looks like a nice enough road on google...

What better way to get to know your new Ferrari?

I've had positive experiences with Interstate on multiple exotic car purchases from all coasts. Best to you.

That might be on the high end. I've seen as low as a buck a mile (depending on range) for enclosed trailer. Open trailer 60-80 cents a mile. But for that distance, it isn't too far. So if it runs, drive it home. I did and it's another story for the books.

I suggest he ship it, unless / until he is familiar with the running condition of the car.

There are some hot, empty spaces between LA and Vegas, and a breakdown there would be a royal PITA.

DRIVE IT !!! Ignore the people afraid to drive their cars. I drove mine home 1,100 miles when I bought and I had to cross death valley in August, car did fine...AC on and comfy.

I would fly to Vegas and drive it home if I was you but if you want to fly to SB, we can take my 360 to Vegas and convoy back to SF. Its only a 6 hour drive from SB to Vegas and then we can take both cars to SF and I will drive the 1 home :)

When I bought mine I got it from a dealer in Arizona, flew in to town and drove it back home here in Los Angeles, great trip for my first Ferrari drive. :)

If you don't want to drive it....which is what I would do :) use an enclosed carrier. I had a good experience with Reliable from Tulsa, OK to State College, PA for less than it would have cost me to drive out and back.

Many years ago I purchased my first Ferrari a 72 246 Dino. This was during the 55mph speed limit. It was an out of State purchase filled with excitement and with fear as Ferrari reliability was not like today and service for the most part was distant. I traveled mostly through the nights, many times in excess of 120mph, never listening to the radio, and most of the times with the windows down so as to enhance the sound of that beautiful exhaust note and those great sounding chains. The stories, the encounters, the smiles that today these memories bring have only been duplicated by few events. If only I could replicate again today! Enjoy your car!

Try west coast transport. They generally run up and down the west coast, but they service the southwest as well. I've used them 3 times and I can't say enough good things about them. (253) 235-0982

Anywhere from .85 per mile to $4.50+ for a private , single car, enclosed transporter.

    Congrats on your new Ferrari!

My brother and I did an 1800 mile two day trip in a Ginetta. Driving a Ferrari 360 from Vegas to California should be a piece of cake!

I would definitely make a road trip out of the purchase.

First I would say you should drive it home. However if you're not up for that, there are plenty of good companies to transport your car. Make sure it is enclosed. I had my car sent from Reno to Pittsburgh, it took a few days but no problems.

Like the other guys said... take delivery, spend a few days with it in Vegas, then drive it home.

    Problem solved.

Many here have a good point. drive it. Start early in the morning at 4:30 AM on a Saturday and get out of Vegas before sun heats up. If you are unsure about the car making the trip, unless you are getting a great deal, I wouldn't be buying the car.

Intercity Lines Inc. 800-221-3936 (all enclosed) best priced for enclosed, next company I would go with is Precious Metals Transport
