I think you did a very nice job on the renderings. The car looks very good like this but its a little plain and I suspect that's why Ferrari did the Aperta with the buttresses.

Dude! I LOVE these! I'd trade my 599 GTB for a spyder like these in a heartbeat. How 'bout some Hi Res photos so I can use them as wallpapers?

God, I wish they would build that.

Thanks for your comments! I am considering making this, but I am worried it will just devalue the car. Unless it is attractive and desireable.. I would appreciate even more comments please!

Thanks for your comments. I was going for a cleaner look, since all the spiders coming out of Ferrari these days, seem to have these buttresses. But when you look at it from the side, it looks more like a targa top because of them.

But yes, it may be preferrable for some.

I prefer this render...I don't like the buttresses on the Aperta.

my only design input (besides different wheels, but to each their own) would be a more barchetta style lower windshield

Thanks for your comments. Unfortunately, the original images came from the web, so they weren't high res to begin with.

Thanks for your comments. Yes, I agree, and if I were to fabricate this, the wind shield would be lower.

    Great idea on the windshield!

Maybe do it top up but with a Boxster Spyder soft top?

    Renders are impressive nonetheless.

    Steve,
    I like it,
    Excellent work and good imagination.
    I love the 599. but I never liked the look of the Aperta;
    it does not seem natural,
It seem like an after thought,
    a forced convertible.
This is only my personal opinion.

    Best,

    Muftah

I dig it too, and agree with the lower-angled windshield. Execute the roof removal on a three-pedal car and it would be an instant hit.

There was a rumor going around Orange County several years ago about a guy who was looking to commission a convertible conversion of a 612. I'm still patiently waiting for this to come to fruition.

The buttresses add a gorgeous styling cue to the 599 and are a signature look to the model. Losing them would be a shame imo.

I agree...otehrwise one gets the appearance of a California T which has design elements of F430, 599 and F12 if you ask me.

How 'bout a similar rendering on an F12?

To my knowledge, it never went further than a computer screen.

If Hollywood ever made another "Miami Vice" movie, this would be the car.
