    Hi,
After selling my F car last year, I am missing having one, so going to get a F430.
I have been offered 2 cars, both from friends. Both have just been serviced, and both have very recent clutch.
The first one is a March 2005 grigio silverstone, black leather, for 60k GBP (100k USD) (I live in the UK) with 18k miles.
The second one is a March 2006 Black with red leather, 27k miles.
Which price makes the black one as attractive as the grey one in your opinion?
I know my question might sound awkward for some, but I only plan to keep the car for a year or so (very likely will buy a 458 then), and I like both cars the same, so it’s down to price...
Do you think the red leather is a turn off for a lot of buyers, ie lower resale value next year? (I personally don’t mind at all)
    Thanks for your time.

PS: I will drive the 430 only 2k miles per year

For US standards the 2005 appears a great bargain. Here, rightfully or not, F-people are pretty obsessed with miles, and I suspect the 2005 would be the better "re-sale" choice. Personally, I also like the exterior color of the 2005 better, and it may be more neutral overall and easier for your re-sale next year. Again, personally, I don't mind the red interior of the 2006 (and may even like it)... I would go with the 2005...

Black with red leather is stunning. Love it.

But in the UK, where the people are conservative and dear I say boring when it comes to the color choices I guess it would be the harder car to sell.

    :D

At least the uk market is stronger than the USA market. I nearly had to give away my 05 spider with 29,000 miles

US market would say the red will be appreciated by many but will likely be harder/take longer to sell. And the miles will be harder to sell too.

The Grigio car would be a great bargain in the US.

But housekeeping for price delta. I would say $15-$20k...calculated as $1 per mile and ~$5-10k for the red leather. So maybe $85k equiv in pounds.

I thought the prices for the rest of the world was significantly more expensive than the US. The price for that 05' would be a great deal over here. With everything being equal I would rather take the black on red with higher miles. That color combo definately stands out more. Get in both of them and see how you feel, you'll get a different vibe from the colors alone.

Why did you think that? (Just curious)

The dollar vs euro has had an impact on new Ferrari prices in the US relative to Europe for nearly ten years now. And the used market has been cheaper overall for as long as I can recall...Italy and Switzerland in particular have seen used car prices fall dramatically.

F430 and 458 are sinking, lots of F430 available below 100K now and almost impossible to sell higher that that..as for 458 more and more cars on the market are really pushing prices down...have been offered nice optioned ones for less than 150k..in 2 years 458 will be under 120-130 here, sure.Too many cars produced.

The only cars that seem not to suffer from depreciation are CS and Scud. Very few CS on the market and prices are going up instead of down and Scuderia is now , for low miles cars, pretty above 458 prices.

I am so happy I just bought a Scuderia :)

Not sure where you see these prices but some of that good luck should come to the east coast. My dealer sold several 430's for over 140K. over the past 2 months. Not sure what you mean by "impossible to sell higher that that". All of it depends on the individual car. I have seen Scuds that are being offered for 150k. I think it matters on the individual car. You will be hard pressed for find an 08 F430 for less that 140k.

If you are seeing anything, it's the typical spring time firming of prices as the peak buying season is now and the prices weaken towards winter. There is zero doubt that 430 prices are going to do anything other than continue to drift down for years to come (as used cars do, "some" limited editions as the exception).
