Hi Tom, can share if your Speciale actually has a boot? I read that they removed the boot, but saw a pic just now of a Speciale with a tiny boot.

It does have a boot. Just a bit smaller than the Italia (because of the nose vents air channels), that's all.

If you flash them early enough it's ok. But if you are close or just behind a car it's not allowed.

I agree since you have, in Germany , this possibility (autobahn). But there are of course, other reasons that push us to choose a color. Personally I wanted something elegant and aggressive in the same time. And since I know how to add the painted stripes in Maranello area later and officially if I wish, I preferred to order the car without them. And in my very personal opinion (sorry for that) red with stripes is not offering both characteristics I was looking for. But you know we are speaking about the sex of the Angels here...and everyone is right with their own choices in this matter..

Absolutely right :) That's why even the guys at Ferrari leave you the choice of colour :D

Thanks guys for the boot info and pics! I was starting to get worried where to place the ad-hoc groceries I might grab :p

I hope you didn't feel offended..Red with stripe is very nice but just not my choice.. And as you write a perfect color even on race track: they will see you perfectly when you will arrive at their back :)

Trust me, white works well for that too. And in most cases, you'll have passed most of them before they know it... ;-)

For the other Speciale owners here, does your car also have insect marks on the inside (!) of the front bonnet, around the air vents, similar to what you normally would find on the front of your car?

I was surprised to found those after my last drives when bringing the car to the car wash...

Thank you for the info and the pic! I'm now interested to see this color in person before buying my next car.

    Some interesting videos
The track is a bit short for this kind of power though(especially for the F12).

Unless they are on the same tires and same driver, this sort of comparison is useless to me.

Why? Every car is tested they way it is delivered - and thus as meant by the manufacturer. Every setup is optimized for the tyres mounted by the factory so they should be tested in OEM spec.

Indeed correct. But to truly test the cars I believe their baseline should be equal. In a running competition one athlete may have better shoes than the other, and it will give him an advantage.

The Speciale seems to have released the throttle and slowed down the last 2 seconds. Any comments on this?

It does sound wildier, loud and goes flat around the bends compared to the rest.

True to a certain extent but not exactly accurate. The Speciale and the 12C were on semi-slicks. The F12 was on summer tyres. This makes a huge difference. Also, that track is very twisty and small for the F12 to take advantage of its huge power.

Indeed. An F12 would too be "optimised" if it was on semi's.

Here's the result of 4,250 km of driving in the Middle Eastern summer, with about half of those miles flat-out on empty and challenging mountain roads and the track...

I've been told by the dealer that I need new pads as well, but these aren't available yet.

Let's call them casualties of speed / fun! It was soooooo worth it! ;-)

Awesome! That's the way the Speciale was destined for!

One question: Have anyone noticed from the TPMS readings on board that the temperatures and pressures of the front tires are running much higher than the rears?

Yes, that's normal. You can even notice the left front gets warmer than the right if you're driving alone (and you have LHD, of course ;))... Obviously the geometry of the front is such that the tyres warm up quicker for better grip.
