I think one thing to be said is, we don't know either way.

As in, there is absolutely no news coming out of there, good or bad, and I believe the family wants it this way to avoid the circus.

It is exactly what I would do. Even when the press or fame isn't involved. When my mother was very sick we kept it close to chest, as we felt there was no good in getting peoples hopes up or down, until we knew the real deal of what was happening.

A good friend of mine is an actor, It's a tough profession, although we are very close friends he never speaks a word about the what if's and possibilities of his career when they are hopeful situations, he only tells me things after the fact, when they are written in stone. Why? For him it is a waste of time and causes more disappointment when they don't happen. For him, it is best to keep it a secret and let it pass, versus then having to re-live bad news. He would rather bypass the glory, so if it doesn't happen, he doesn't have to be dragged down by the explanation of why it didn't.

I have no idea what is happening with Schumi, but I believe the silence is there for a reason. So the family can deal with it as a family.

That being said I think it is pre-mature to assume the worst, or the best, as we have no news of what is going on.

If it was hopeless, I feel there would be some news.

If he was cured, I feel there would be some news.

If they are working on the possibility that he might get better, I feel the family would keep it quiet so they can concentrate on just that, without outside press mayhem to take them away from the only task that is important to them.

I feel people start to speculate because there is a long silence and make something out of nothing.

One day we will know, but for now we know nothing. And my guess is that is because the family wants, and deserves, their privacy.

I wish him the best and we should hope for the best, but at the same time prepare for the worst.

I may be called a Pollyanna, but I'm clinging to the old adage that 'no new is good news'. Probably, and realistically, a long shot for sure, but let's hold out hope.

    Godspeed Michael,
    Ian

This may be true. It's hard not to create a story when there is none. Silence breeds imagination if you will. And it's expected, the mind would lead most to believe that there is silence due to there is no good news, some times I think that.

But I also would have to wonder if it is the other way around, I also find it hard to believe that they would be going through this for so long if all the info around them is that there is no hope.

So nobody really knows till the info comes out is how I see it.

The one thing that does give me hope is Luca's words. I would have to think that he is somewhat privy to Michael's condition and would not create false hope by mentioning his hopes for Michael if he thought all was lost.

But again, this is just speculation.

IMO only time will tell what is really going on. The silence will only reveal speculation.

Best wishes to Michael, his family, and all of his fans.

I guess that something will come out sooner or later then.

Not trying to create false hope. I realize the situation is serious.

I think we all fear the worst. And think we all hope for the best.

Till verified information comes out though, I guess I'd personally like to remain optimistic.

Whether it was Schuey or some guy off the street, I'm always gonna hope for the best till I know different.

Brain injuries take a long time to heel. However in 6 months if things are not doing much better then it will probably be far short of a full recovery.

I have just had a tumor removed from my head, I was admitted to apparently one of the best hospitals in Northern Europe for head injuries, I asked about what they thought of MS's condition, not too good was the reply, as in the length of time in a coma.

Just got to hope he can find the strength to pull through and amaze everyone.
