Not sure about the largest size tire but the RIGHT size is the size that came stock. If yours is a US version then I can say there are not many tires made today will properly fit the 16x10 rear wheels. You'll have to go to larger wheels. Many past threads on larger TR wheels and tires use the search.

I've got 16" wheels and had the problem Kenny that posted about 5 months ago-- there just weren't any 16" tires wider than 255mm with the same outside diameter available. I would have loved to step up to a 275mm wide rear tire just for the looks (and why go wider at the front? -- the slow speed steering is already terrible ;))

Jay -- Do you have 16" or 415mm wheels?

I have the 16 inch, the only 275 16 I know of is a drag radial. I'll keep looking, I dont want to change the wheels, just yet.

    Hi

All the correct Testarossa tires are listed here Ferrari Testarossa If there is anything on this web page that is wrong please let me know.

The main reason i am posting is that Hopefully we will be getting a fresh batch of the Michelin TRX in September.

This is when Michelin plan to produce them. The machinery they use to make these very unusual tires has very limited capacity, and occasionally a more important project can become urgent and then unfortunately the TRX gets pushed to the back of the queue so i cannot guarantee that they will definitely get made them but currently that is the word from Michelin.

I shall be back on this forum when they arrive, but if you leave a back order with us we will let you know when they arrive.

Incisdentally on the subject of fatter tires on a Testarossa. It will spoil the handling. If bigger tires were better Ferrari would have fitted them. In fact Ferrari found the opposite was true, which is why they changed from having a rear tyre with a width of 280mm and found the car handled better with a width of 255mm

There are some better solutions for TR wheels than stock. I bought some 18" speedlines for my single bolt car. My thinking was why drive around with 80's technology tires and the car could exceed the TRX tire speed rating. The car now has the same tires as the 512TR. Here are some pics of rims that someone posted last summer, that I wish I had. FWIW.

If I'm going to spend money on some wheels it would definitely be on those.

I have an 87 TR and Dunlop 8000s on the original rims: 225/50ZR16 front, 255/50ZR16 on the rear. I also have aftermarket 19" rims on the car now, and those are 235/35R19 front, 275/35R19 on the rear. Image Unavailable, Please Login
