After seeing it in person, I just had to have one. We live near the beach and I've been conflicted on what family beach mobile to get with kids in mind. I'm reaching a point in my life that I'm welcoming stress free vehicles. I'm tired of being daddy tyrant over food, drink and sand...

    Heres my answer.

Austrian made for the Swiss Army. Over engineered and goes anywhere in total practicality. Draws more thumbs up than the fcar.

Its an extremely capable 4x4 with a no nonsense interior. Ice cream cones, juice boxes, french fries , sandy feet?? No problem, bring it.

Im having a roof rack fabricated in my shop for camping gear and room for a tent.

Daniel at Ricambi has one too and we are planning a 4x4 adventure in Uwharrie NC one weekend soon.

What matters most, my kids LOVE it!

    Ted:

    That thing is ridiculous! Enjoy.

I could see you in a Haflinger, but a Pinzgauer??

BTW, this 'mog makes appearances at our local gathering... they have to warm it up for a few minutes before driving off... something to do with what I think are air-over-hydraulic brakes. No eminently practical, but unchallenged in contentious parking space situations :)

I used up all the e-track I bought. It comes is some seriously long measurements. Order your belts from Expedition Imports, so they'll be there when the e-track arrives. I got some pretty stout installation hardware from True Value --- remember, its a hostile environment with lots of water, humidity, (and in your case) salty air.

Post up a picture of your tool roll, jerry cans, shovel, ax, and other goodies if you have them. My Pinz has every original Swiss army accessory still intact. The leather tool roll is pretty cool.

p.s. First gear is a joke, eh?

The E track is on order from ebay, found 2 pieces @ 6' each. Just what i need.

8 selts of belts from EI.

Ill get the grade 8 hardware from Ace.

Unfortunately i didnt get the tool roll but i do have the road triangle, jack, lug wrench, jery can and spout, shovel but no axe :(.

Im still learning the gears, i dont bother with first and hell, sometime is start out in 3rd.

I love the whine it makes from 3rd-4th-5th. And the built in back massagers are a plus.

Good choice. I love the Pinsgauer. I too recently decided I was tired of "taking care of cars" and built up and old Defender 110. No carpet. I don't care about spilled drinks and ice cream cones or dirty feet. It's very liberating.
