For those interested, there is an early 206 about to come to market in the US.

It appears to be a very nice car. The asking price is not a new area for Dino's, but one not seen often.

Matthias, This has nothing to do with the original post in this thread, but your chassis number inquiry brought it to mind. In the late 1980s, I spotted a 206 GT in the Lime Rock Park paddock at a Ferrari Club of America moving event. The chassis number was 00206! I was surprised enough to see a 206 Dino, but the chassis number made it extra special. The car, however, needed quite a bit of TLC at the time, though it looked to be relatively complete, if a bit tattered. Regards, Fred

If you are wanting a 206, you might be waiting a long time.

These aren't price negotiable cars. I don't like the pricing, but once pictures were provided, the car sold in a couple of days.

These cars seem to move in their price spectrum. I didn't buy 00144 last year because I was trying lean away from it due to mods. It sold to Germany for $190k in a multi-trade deal.....

I made a mistake, the mods were desirable and I now have more info on them.

    Live and learn.

True. I passed after carefully inspecting it and saw what was needed to bring it closer to an original standard.

It had A/C fitted and that was low on my desirability index...
Overall it was an interesting early Dino and fun to look over.

00144 had the roof cut off....

Basic/needs 206 cars are trading well over the $500k mark, and that seems to be low......

    My Lord.....

I know of another 206 sale that makes this look like a bottom of the market steal.....

As I said, I regret not buying 00144 last year.
