All great cars, and undoubtedly I'm biased, but the 3.0 in that photo is still the best looking, IMHO. Parked my '77 next to a 996 TT last night, and will admit it looked like a good DD.

Getting my documents together to get ready for selling. Just took some pics of the 1976 MY factory brochures that came with my car. Of course they chose a copper brown metallic one (like mine) for almost all of the photos!

The 1977 UK Porsche brochure has a photo of what appears to be a 1975 930 sliding around in the snow (see the 1975 style painted flag mirror). Features Stuttgart license plate #S-04847 and no rear badging (perhaps before they had the "turbo" badge produced).

RoW 1976 Porsche 930 Turbo posted on Hemmings for sale in Reno, Nevada for $59,900, OBO. It would not take too much to get this 930 back to stock (brakes, Fuchs, Tail, etc.). It even has the original 300 KPH speedo installed. Classic color combination of white with lobster interior. The original leather looks pretty nice for a 1976 car.

Great period color combo. Returning to stock would be a significant expense though (on top of whatever needs the 930 already has). You could easily spend $10-$15k just acquiring the items necessary for returning to stock (Fuchs, tail, brakes/calipers, A/C compressor, door panels/carpet, radio, etc). Fortunately the intercooler he purchased was never installed...making it an easier project to return to stock than most.

Good points but it still might be a bargain compared to the ’76 Turbo Carrera on eBay (red color change from sepia brown) and now a lively discussion on Bring a Trailer. The tan interior on the red eBay 930 looks like it baked in sun outside for many years.

Yes...I'd buy the white one if I was looking right now ;)

That feels significantly mis-priced. I would jump on it if I didn't have two turbo projects in process! Biggest search will be the original brakes and the tail will take some time but everything else is pretty easy to correct. I'll bet it's already gone...

How many were registered in 1976, the first year of US production? And is it possible to tell how many are still on the road?
