    Hi,

My 355 has the rear wing. So the weight of the cover is somewhat higher. As the cover is held up only on one side by a single lightweight rod, the cover is twisting quite a bit
My mechanic is concerned that the twist is pretty bad and may damage the cover.

Beyond putting a wood rod of same size on the other side if the cover stays up during extended period, has anyone come out with a more permanent fix ?

    Thanks for your help

    Best

    T

You fouls always put the standard gas struts in

Interesting -- I don't think mine has any of these parts...is it just for rigidity improvements?

Ok ... Checked my car today ...

So if you have a wing .. There should be two struts .. Connected on the underside of wher the wing mounts and going diagonally out to the edge of the lid

These take the load of the wing at speed..

I then have one support that holds the lid up

Is ur wing a genuine part ... There were afew companies who made 'improved' versions I believe ???

I have been told the car is 'all original' but a few parts have been deleted... Will get the car in 2 weeks so will look into it then.

Yes. Although the Nolder lip at the rear of the engine cover is quite rigid, the tie rods secured to the base of the wing and the lateral cover frame elements provide the necessary bracing for the wing in function.

Ok based on the picture, I ammissing the to wide struts. Not the one coming from the base of the wings but the wide ones. I guess these are standard 355 items, not challenge parts ?

Ok thanks. We are trying to obtain a set of these from the breaker who's supplied all the missing parts for the road legalisation.
