Time to fund other projects, so my 1998 F355 Spider is up for sale, just in time for the Summer driving season. 44,725 miles, regularly driven (weekly). Rosso Corsa, tan interior, black top. 6-speed manual, Tubi exhaust. Hill Engineering clutch release bearing, driver's door lever bracket, Slick Shift. All records, but due for belt service, so discounted a bit. $49K/offer. Located in San Jose, CA.

seems like a very honest car and looks to present itself very, very well...at least in pictures. I would almost think the car is most attractive due to the 6sp!!

is it fair to suspect that w/ the higher mileage (compared to most Ferraris) that many of the 355 bugs have been worked through?

    best,

At the risk of sounding insulting, are you looking at the same pictures that I am? The dash, ashtray cover, drivers seat bolster. Decent...yes.

under the circumstances...50k mile car...ah, 50k mile Ferrari. it looks to have held up pretty well and those items you cite are clearly fixable. Ferrari leather is known to me as being of a quality well below a Porsche or a ford and wear always seems accelerated.

Yes, I agree. All areas are fixable and not really a huge deal. I do agree with you about the leather. For all the talk about Connolly leather, the stuff Ferrari uses is so undurable. Externally, your car looks beautiful.

The car is by no means a perfect car, but it is one I don't have any qualms driving to work or across the state. The leather is an area I wish was better on the car, there is wear on the bolsters and some shrinkage on the dash. The previous owner must have really leaned on the left rear corner of the trunk lid as it sits a little low. The rims have a few scuffs. But a solid car, with cosmetics that can be fixed or you can just drive it and enjoy it.

A few pics below from one of my out of town trips in the car. I must admit I felt a little bad about the Tubi exhaust in such a serene place!

As far as having had many of the bugs worked through, one of the headers was done quite a while ago, Hill Engineering parts have gone in as needed (clutch release, door lever bracket), I haven't had any valve guide issues.

If it weren't for needing the cash for other projects (race planes and such), I'd keep it.

Hi there would it be possible to view the car. I am also in San Jose? Is the car known to Roselli's?

I'm selling my 1998 F355 Spider to fund completing my race plane. The weather is getting nice, so imagine yourself with the top down with the 3.5L V8 screaming behind you. Currently at 46,621 miles, but driven regularly. Rosso Corsa, tan interior, black top. 6-speed manual, Tubi exhaust. Hill Engineering clutch release bearing, driver's door lever bracket, Slick Shift. Major service just completed in December, 2014. All records. $59K/offer. Located in San Jose, CA.

GLWS almost an exact duplicate of my 97 including the worn bolster, mine has 32 K miles. Do let me know what she sell's for ..... ;) thinking close to $59 K with the service will be a quick sale.

The major was not done by a typical Ferrari shop. My brother-in-law who has been a high end import (Porsche, Audi, Mercedes) mechanic and factory service rep for virtually his whole career did it at his shop in southern California (California Auto Centers) using the major service kit from Ricambi America with the Hill Engineering tensioner bearings, etc.

Does it have Tubi Headers or other replacement headers and exhaust or stock headers / exhaust manifold (I think this is best description) and Tubi exhaust?

    Thanks

Somebody in the Bay Area buy this car! These weapons are needed to fight the Teslas that are taking over our roads.

    Good-looking Spider, GLWS.
