Very sobering commentary on the new GT3 with PDK only:

Odd. Only number 3 is not negative or derogatory. The slant here portrays Ferrari owners poorly.

Regarding transmissions... I have driven sports cars (many exotics) with manual transmissions for 33 years. For the most part, they are more engaging then paddle shifters. That being said, driving the 458 aggressively in "race" mode is a great thrill that can stand up to any drive that I've ever had with any manual. For the most part, most people are just unaware of how pleasurable Ferrari's current DCT's are when driven hard or conversely how civil they can be when required. Priceless. Your view does not resonate with me. Sorry.

It does resonate with you :) You are a 3 (mostly). Had this not resonated then you wouldn't have bothered to waste your time with a reply to a thread like this.

And I thought this thread had died and run its course.

    Peace.

This thread has got me very concerned. I'm afraid that I might lose my subscription. Do any long time members have any input or help to impart? I didn't sleep well last night.

I don't agree with your categories. The "pure enthusiast" would tend to be old school generation, not wanting to progress with technology and more down to earth. The "snob" and other descriptions wouldn't apply to them. That would be exclusively applied to #1

I thought the original post was funny. Lots of different thoughts on this topic though. People take this stuff too seriously. I often considered myself a poser but maybe not
I drive a modern F car (599gto). Never in auto mode cause I like to paddle shift. I don't track cars because I suck at it so I will never reach the potential of my current car. Got rid of my Diablo SV because it was too flashy. Just sold my 997 GT2 because I got sick of rowing gears. I love all cars and each has an appeal all it's own. Maybe I am not posing but just getting older. Got lots of high end watches but never wear them. Drive around in flip flops I bought from the Skechers store. Tommy Bahamas wrinkled shorts and t shirt. People in general don't judge me cause I work hard and I'm a pretty nice guy. Not sure where I fit but I enjoyed reading the thread.
