I couldn't have left that sealed. Would probably have opened from the bottom very cautiously. As a seller you take a lot of risk implying what the contents are without actually knowing for certain. Then again, toy collectors are a different breed when it comes to valuation and grading.
I love it. Collecting is a bug that gets in and wont let go. Bidding went to 40K so apparently the demand was there. What makes a Stradivarius worth a million plus ? A Faberge Egg worth even more ? A Picasso ten times that ? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
If I were a well heeled collector I would Ive paid close to $5k for a plastic toy that retailed for $5 in 1980.
amazing.. of course I had the bug for a certain corvette model series call DONTUV they were decent low cost models and I paid as much as $500 per car for some of the difficult to find cars ... and as little as $2. for the easiest to find years.. I probably have several thousand dollars in that series .... so I guess it gets in you...
Micronauts Ampzilla in a USA box. I have one of only two known to exist. There a few dozen others out there but they are in Italian boxes. No one is quite sure if they were even released in the USA. The USA box versions may be sales samples. The image Ive attached is from the internet in an Italian box. I dont actually have any pics of mine. Image Unavailable, Please Login
