She is just fantastic at spa . Worries race cars at times . Re tyres Actually no , I use the supersports usually ( on the road and track ) but this time I was on cup 2's The cup 2s are a better tyre in the dry than the supersports but not as good as the old cups , the old cups were noticeably stickier . However they are better than the old cups in the wet . They are not n rated , I believe they are corvette zr1 sizes ( so a 345 rear ) but the correct fronts and profiles . Thanks mate , car was an absolute monster . She was absolutely flying , always a little on the slide and so very balanced . Beautiful chassis balance , so responsive and alive . A stark contrast to this digital age , the world will mourn the passing of the analogue dinosaurs .
Looks like our local P1 broke down already.. PS: Just kidding, i have no idea why it's on a flatbed. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here she is in ER in the pouring rain ( check out the length of the rooster tail , lol ) . I have tried both cars several times but prefer the CGT on track . Its not a popular opinion but the GT is on another planet to the Enzo for interaction and sheer joy on track . Its just more alive , communicative , harder to master and in the hands of 5% of drivers faster . Image Unavailable, Please Login
Could I get a link the P1 cooked battery problem? Ive tried to Google it, but nothing shows up. Thanks, Mike
Talk to owners , I know of at least 2 with battery problems/ warnings . And you know at least one on the mac forum , thanks Wt
I don't think I'll ever know, let alone talk to anyone that owns one of these cars..... Its too bad that they have battery problems. Thanks.
Your welcome , I'm sure it's just teething problems and to be fair the mac forum guys one was sorted very quickly . I read back my reply and it came across a little sarcastic , sorry if that was the case matey Thanks mate , frozen speed is a great photographer . Sorry no idea about the speed through er in the wet . I was too busy holding on for dear life !
yes watched it. to answer you question. yes, the car can be stationary...the Jay Leno clip I posted clearly shows this. "turn key to 'turn on' car, car is in E mode where you can immediately drive off like a golf cart, or while still sitting there, turn dial and petrol engine will fire up, then drive off like a normal car. I think car defaults to e mode after you switch it off..meaning you cant leave it in sport as you switch off the car, remove the key, then come back to turn key and get petrol motor to kick over immediately. Doom? is this possible?
I don't think you need to even do that . Even if it starts in silent , it's silent . Just push the accelerator beyond the detente and boom , engine starts . Hope that helps
the car is immediately in gear, in e mode, when you start it up correct? ...so if you press gas pedal car will go forward until that détente is passed then petrol will kick in (which is what happens in Ibrahimovic clip). I don't think it's an issue either way. in the Jay Leno video, it is simple enough. turn the key, turn red dial over a click, and drive with engine screaming away
Yes, we were aware of that Doom. You can turn the dial and take of, and/or kick down the throttle. Thanks. However, one of the posters wanted to know could you fire up the engine at idle to hear that unmistakable warble, rough engine idle of a race bred engine? Of course/it seems you can do it, after turning the ignition; just turn the rotary to, or back to Hybrid, etc., to hear the engine start (we presume). Correct? And yes, some of the suppositions, logic and "connect the dots" rationale, recently used in this thread have been quite eye brow raising and hilarious indeed.
Yes mate , what I meant was you don't even have to do that . If you just push the pedal beyond the detente it starts up anyway and since it's silent before that you get the same effect . Agree that there's some proper madness being spouted now on here
OK/Gotcha!! And the typical Gang, Gaggle; interspersed with Parochial vision and breathless Over-Reaching.... To be expected. Nothing new, surprising there.
Both cars are monstrously fast but that clip being a Legit comparo? Nope. cripes. Using dash instrument for definitive data? P1 numbers from MT to be taken with a grain of salt. How about Autocar's proper test numbers? What that dash vid does show is that LaF display is of higher quality...sharper, more resolved, better graphics design.
Incredible! Mclaren fanboy did it! P1 tape has been edited (at the begining, observe engine rpm: between 1 and 3, you can see the tach pointer jumps) Such guys cannot stand the idea LaF is better. They will do anything they can to demonstrate P1 supposed suprematy. But LaF is better.
We can use Autocar's test numbers and P1 would still be ~0.2s faster. LaFerrari's screen is pretty good, they might want to start making TVs.
