I looked at this car about 5 years ago, offered for $10K. I was going to trade a Lotus Europa for it, just never finalized the deal. Oh well------good luck to the new owner.

Jacked up by 2 no feedback bidders. One had 4 and the winner 0.
But, no sweat, the seller can go to the good bidder for around 36k.

I saw it on eBay as sold at $32K which is crazy enough so I have no idea what this $78K means now? Something funny weird about this. What a cesspool eBay has become.

Agreed. I wish ebay would put restrictions on low feedback people. Or have some kind of financial security from them.

I used to know an exec there. Nowhere near their policy, so don't count on it.

The seller can easily put restrictions on bidders with low or no feedback. Obviously, they had no idea what they were doing and just opened the flood gates. I'm sure it will be relisted as that $77K bid is funny money.

It was at 32k until the very end of the sale. I was watching it as well. Looks like a couple "snipe" bidders got involved.

Just spoke with the seller and he confirmed that the winner "bid by mistake" and he's sending out second chance offers to other bidders. Sounds like a nice enough guy, although he's a 0 feedback seller so who knows.

I just went through Springfield last weekend and almost stopped to look at the car, although it was it ended up being too late on my return trip home.

Posting this here, maybe by chance someone knows the car. Back around 20 years ago there was a front engined Lamborghini parked in the front lot of a strip mall along Algonquin Rd. in Des Plaines IL. My best guess is that it was an Espada. I know it was a Lambo and I know it was a front engined car. The car sat there for several years, then just disappeared. Linked below is the street view of about where it sat.

Those were shills, regularly bidding the amount up in chunks, often against themselves.
"Winner" creates the opening for "second chance" offers.
When I recognize shill behavior on anything, large or small, I'm out. I make a note, and let the seller relist when the "winner" somehow falls out......and always decline the "opportunity" to get the item on that second chance offer "at less than the (false) winner mistakenly bid".
If nobody gets suckered/bites, it will be back.

Snipes appear only in the last few seconds of the auction.

The next time you are in the neighborhood, just stop in and talk to the folks at the dentist's office you see at the left (west) end of the strip center. If the dentist is still alive I'll bet he's your man. I met him there years back to look at a Miura he was selling. He had just puchased a Countach and needed to sell his old Miura. The Miura was a lime green, right hand drive example that he claimed had once been owned by Steve McQueen.

#8164, I have inquired for months on the car and asked for compression ratios report without any answer for that... a bad sign even if the litterature shows it on its best face !

Red? Who in the hell has an Espada with a red interior? ;)

Is there a car that did worse than this with the rubber bumpers?

A bumper change out on this car would do wonders but is it even feasible today?

    * Yes, a Countach QV US version did...

    * Yes, no problem, just a question of patience & budget...

Those really were cattle catchers weren't they ...

I have to wonder if there even are any parts car Espadas at this point. Certainly not at parts car prices. Now other cars for that period have reproduction bumpers available but I rather think getting new Espada bumpers might be rather expensive.

But if it's ONLY money so what ... ;)

I am looking for a reliable sourse to make a very simple indoor dust cover for my Espada . I recently bought a very simple breathable cotton one ( t shirt like material ) for my E type and was hoping to do something similar for the Espada. The gent who sold me the E type cover didn't think he could do it unless he made a min of 500 covers like he did for the union jack cover...

Any suggestions on who might do this for not stupid money ?

I got mine from California Car covers two years ago Gary. Very soft very heavy and it fits wonderfully. Not $500. But since every one of these cars has gone up incredibly during the last year maybe covers have as well LOL :D.

It's not a thin type so it will cushion as well. All cotton and not that GD synthetic breathable evolution crap that deteriorates and leaves **** all over your car.

    You'll be happy.
