Another LP500S that I discovered was 12645, brought to my attention by its South African gentleman owner, a RHD LP500S delivered there via Portman which still has only 2,800 miles on the clock and is virtually indistinguishable from new.

This car is now heading back to the UK and into the garage of my gentleman friend & client there.

I'll let my images paint the full picture.

To be on the safe side, I got Valentino to get involved in the inspection process. Reunited with the car in Johannesburg, the former test-driver was effusive about this sublime Countach. A real jewel as we suspected.

At the point of inspection, the official concessionaire in South Africa, Valentino did his thing, to his and all the participant's satisfaction. This is one expedition that will not be forgotten in a long while.

Another great car headed to a great home.

Did he note that the turn signals were installed upside down?
I guess this must have happened more than once at the factory as mine were installed upside down as well. Sincerely Vic

Some things are meant to be! I am glad Vale refrained from establishing the car's terminal velocity.

I've seen too many pieces of twisted metal on wrecked exotics in Johannesburg....

    Thankfully!

Not to change the subject, but I think you should get this fantastic book by Jeremy Coulter.

Lamborghini Countach LP400, LP500S: World Supercars Series No. 2

Not only because it focuses on the LP500S during the production period, but, Valentino is featured on the cover and inside, test-driving one of the new RHD cars that was delivered to Portman London. I think it would be nice to have him make a meaningful dedication to you.

As an aside, I have never come across a classic Lamborghini as well-preserved as Countach LP500S 12645. Clearly South Africa's warm & dry climate is helpful, but also, Robert knows how to take care of a motor-car!

Great Idea. Sold. Worth going to amazon (link below) to pay £10 rather than £55.... and then you can invest the £45 saved in a copy of the BRILLIANT Joe Sackey Miura Bible while you're at it. I just have!

Lamborghini Countach LP400, LP500S: Amazon.co.uk: Jeremy Coulter: Books

I have no affiliation to Amazon nor Joe Sackey.....but the Miura Bible photography I'm told is jaw-dropping!

They are. Fantastic finds. Always amazing to see a Lamborghini/exotic that has been tucked away and under the radar for such a long time.

I have owned that book since I was 11 years old and it is still with me. Even as I flip through it today, it brings back memories. Growing up in a non-car loving family of modest means, I was definitely an oddity. But it was my great aunt who said to me, "work hard and one will own one of those Lamborghinis one day." Fast forward 25 years…

    I still love that book.
