Lol, no kidding - just ordered another few dozen EPROMS as I think this party is going to exhaust my current supply! New batch of chips is supposed to be in Friday, but if not and I run out during the party, let's address cars with issues the chips may solve first. I'll have several sets ready to go and we can create extras as needed and/or mail out after the party if I run out.

This should get us a great baseline of OEM code versions so we can begin chip tuning.

As an aside, if anyone has a spare set of 348 2.7 ECUs they want to sell, I may be interested as I could use another pair to permanently install some Moates emulators.

I have 2 pair so I guess we got you covered. Wait, one of those is Bruce's. You can chop that one up! Oh well. ;) FBB's never worked in either my or Ernie's cars so beware. :D Something else going on with those. They actually might be 2.5 versions. Or something else is goofy. Hey maybe they need their plugs GCK-ed!

Chris is coming to steal our bird, eh? We shall see about that fat man! Actually, we can do it last after we feed the masses. It will all work out. The pool is heated so those who indulge more enthusiastically can just wash in the plaster basin. I can probably sop off the grease with some hazmat sponges later.

That's fine on the fry. I can get another bird if needed too but let me know ASAP. It takes days for a frozen bird to thaw. Mine will be injected rubbed and ready to fry.

On the ECU's maybe they only work in fast 348's because they worked fine in my 348 racecar and Chad's bushmobile.

If it was just Ernie's car I'd understand - wasn't he running ECUs pulled from a Volvo or some damn thing a while back?!?! ;) Sounds like we have some good candidate ECUs, once I get them modified I'll bring them over for a dyno day and we can do adjustments to the code in real time.

What, no vino? I'm hearing a lot of talk of wings, beer and deep fried turkey but for a buncha guys that drive fine Italian sports cars I'm not seeing much in the way of good old fashioned Italian red wine to go with the bounty. I'll take the lead and be the effete San Francisco transplant here and bring a few decent bottles. Crimey.

    Flame suit on. Go.

These cars were made by people who drank dego-red for lunch and you see what that got you. But feel free to bring your poison. :)

FBB we don't need another bird, no worries, we'll just cook yours either first as the test bird or later when I have something the masses can gnaw on.

I remember discussing the ecu with you. It did not run on my car at all so I am curious to see why. For fun we could try it again. Maybe I had the left and right reversed. ;) Whatever we got enough to get the job done. Chad is coming with the Bushmobile, right?

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday. It would be great to take a group photo at some point. I have access to a pretty nice camera and tripod, but I'm sure that there are much better photographers attending. Let me know if you want me to bring the gear.

We tried this picture thing before and we ended up with a bunch of goofs in an engine bay wearing tin hats. You never know what nonsense this year will bring. ;)

That's what we get for letting goofs wear the tin hats.
Only those properly trained and certified should be allowed to wear the tin hats!

    Plugzit,

If you are willing there is another person who would like to buy some R-12 from you. Make sure you bring a scale to weigh the R-12 or let me know and I will bring a race scale.

    Vince,

Do you have an air compressor (like a 5 horsepower) in the garage and a hose that will reach onto the driveway? If not let me know and I can get a compressor dropped over to your house.

Looks like my F355 will be still in the shop through the weekend. The tech found the radiator fan bearings are shot. New fan is on the way. I was hearing a strange noise on start-up... shop found that the fan was wobbling and hitting the fan shroud frame until it got up to speed. Shop also found a few other things that I am having them remedy.

I'll be driving my alternate fun car... can't miss Stoogie day!

Missed this, sorry - yes, we can read your chips, look at the code and view the maps. We will be able to easily determine if yours are tuned chips.

Just unplug it and drive fast, what could possibly go wrong??? :p

Edit: Is it the driver or passenger side radiator fan? I have 3 or 4 SPAL fans kicking around from another project, let me check if I have the right size and I'll shoot you an email. I'll be installing my compressor tonight and we could easily swap out your bad fan at my place.

We can digitally alter your face Tim (probably an improvement) so that the NSA doesn't take you away.

We gotta try to get a group photo though, if for no other reason than to make the rest of the world jealous. Tin hats will be acceptable attire...

    See ya'll tomorrow.

IS TODAY!! Beautiful weather in PV. Ah soon the smell of vat peanut oil frying poultry will waft through the air along with burned hydrocarbons and petrolium distilates. Wish all our 348/355 brothers could here. Pictures coming. Is it too early for a beer?
