Thanks Vince and Barbara for hosting once again! This year I got the "Ketel" Award for being the last to leave due to problems. A big thanks to Vince and Oz for all of the help with my brake system. We had to bleed the complete system 3 times before all the air was out and I had brakes working. It was close to 9:00 before I was on the road.

Keep September 20th open for the next event in Sherman Oaks!

    Aloha

Thank you so much Mr. and Mrs. Vince for hosting another fabulous gathering of great people, food (really good turkey guys, my wife was impressed the leftovers I took home) and cars! Thanks for reserving that spot next to the pool, and it was a hot hot day with little wind so I am sure the car was tempted to jump in. I enjoyed showing the latest and greatest Gothspeed exhaust, and terrorizing Vince's neighborhood giving rides to a few. I tried to take some video while I was following my own car in Robert's car, but I boneheaded and stuck the camera out the roof of his GTS and all I got was wind noise...but I did get a bit of good footage and audio and even caught Oz having too much fun in my car and getting the rear end hanging out a bit in the corners LOL.

Vince, I hope you don't get any citiations or complaints from your neighbors. If you do, you are most welcome to send them all to Oz.

    ;-)

    Cheers

PS> I am hoping to host and sneak in another 355/348 party mid-summer (3rd weekend of July is what I am shooting for) before TrojanFan's get together in September. The more (get togethers) the merrier!

Another great Stoogefest and big thanks to Vince and Barbara for hosting all of us. Yes, I'm happy to pass the 'problem child' baton to TrojanFan this year. Not only did I leave this time before others I actually made it ALL the way back to SF tonite! I'm writing this at 2:20 AM in my own bed in Sausalito. Heck, what's a 7 hour drive in a 355 clocking 90 most of the way up I-5? Piece of cake. Such great cars when fully sorted.

Looking forward to the next one!

How about editing a couple of those pictures by adding names and arrows so we can see who is who. Always good to attach a face to a name.

That was a fluke. I mean something weird happened to Trojanfan, not that you made it back to SF. Great job Ketel your wrenching skills are coming along quite nicely. I think Mitchell is your Obi-Wan.

We were busy! Vince and I mostly manned the BBQ and Fryer. The first turkey arrived about 10 am with poultry in hand.
    Culinary recap:
    5 kinds of Beer
    4 bottles of wine
    5 kinds of non-alcoholic beverage
    chips and dip
fruit with watermelon cut in the shape of hearts brought “class” to a party of cavemen
    4 kinds of salad
5 lbs of deep fried potato wedges
    2 lbs of bbq hotdogs
6 lbs of bbq buffalo burgers
5 lb whole deep fried chicken
5 lbs of bbq buffalo wings
3- 15 lb deep fried turkeys
    4 kinds of deserts

Culinary duties kept me off the driveway for a lot of the day but here are a few observations.
    Driveway recap:
There was much Ferrari tinkering, fluid changes, window futzing, brake pad changing, sharing of fix-it knowledge, and ogling of the latest Gothspeed 355 exhaust creation. There are only a few lucky handful of owners fortunate enough to own some of the Gothspeed creations. The workmanship is strong, the cosmetics is amazing, and the engineering complex…a true compliment to the uniqueness of the 355. However, I must admit that his less complex exhaust design in the 348 absolutely narrows the gap in sound output to a 355 in standard exhaust trim or with the typical aftermarket treatments. Yes the Goth exhausts are that good. Meanwhile in Vince’s “clean room” aka dusty garage bench, Eric collected 348 2.7 motronic data by chip reader and laptop. Eric, Plugzit and I had a spirited discussion about “checksums.” Bruce and I are more skilled with hammers and chisels, still impressed with our opposable thumbs. As our eyes glazed over into blank stares it was quite obvious that Eric knew we understood and fully appreciated his caulk board lesson. So being good monkeys we opened over a dozen ECU’s so Eric could suck their brains. If Eric is able to take the 348 electronic wizardry to the next level, we all discussed, OMG 355 guys look in your rearview mirrors the 348’s are coming up fast. We had a good number of DIY’er s to coach others and a professional Craig from Fastcars is always welcome. I did not get to talk to him but rumor has it that he had the best story. You can’t top competing in the 2014 Mille Milia in a near priceless 1920’s Alfa.

What a great day of stooging and feasting. My advice is don’t miss the next one.

Another fantastic Stooge fest! Thank you Vince and Barbara for hosting us at your lovely home! Great to reconnect with old friends and make new friends, what a wonderful group to spend the day with.

Thanks to all that opened up their ECUs to read their chip sets; I was able to collect 12 examples to add to my baseline data. I can confirm Vince's factory set of SS ECUs do in fact contain different code revisions even though they have the same part number. Very interesting and may help explain one reason we are seeing favorable results with code-matched chip sets. I burned 5 or 6 sets for the group while I was there; if you wanted a set and didn't get a chance before I left, shoot me a PM.

We even got Ernie on speakerphone and heckled him for a while until he hung up on us. I am back in San Diego with two big revelations: 1) I need a Goth exhaust. 2) It really is possible to get from RPV to SD in 55 minutes without traffic! :p

Thank Vince for another great day and great turnout. Sorry I had to leave early as I did a bonehead move and schedule furniture delivery on the same day, won't make that mistake again.

Wow, that looked like a lot of fun. Too far from Texas to join, but I can enjoy the pictures.

I now have a 94 348 Challenge, and I'd be interested to see if the ECU really is different than the normal 348. Supposedly it is, sounds like Eric could prove it once and for all.

I am an EE, and could probably handle the dump, just don't have the EEPROM reader...
