    Hi Newbie here!
Finally get to post because I am now in the F club. Sold my Bentley GT and moved to a 430.
The Bentley got attention but the 430 Its in a league of its own lol.

Anyhow, I am in the process of customizing the appearance and now I've decided to do the headers. My options are Fabspeed or Agency Power. I can't find reviews or clips on Agency Power heads, therefore unsure of sound, quality etc.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated. I am ordering tomorrow. Also, what's the anticipated labor time at a shop..not F dealer.

    THANKS

I have a set of Fabspeed headers in transit and should be here by the end of the week. Looking at what was available and tech support, I chose Fabspeed. I also ordered their sports exhaust system. Evan at Fabspeed said to allow 6-8 hours for a self install which is what I'll be doing. I'm sure a competent shop can shave off a few hours. I have the luxury of taking my time as I'm not in the business.

I have the Fabspeed headers on my F430 and they sound terrific. Best purchase by far. The tone is incredible and has a much higher pitch.

Thanks for the love guys :) As you all said, the main value of the Fabspeed headers lies in their lifetime warranty, build construction, performance and sound. I also feel honored to say that there is value in being able to deal with a true enthusiast for your transaction. The quality of these cars demands not only a quality product, but a trained staff to to make sure that the quality of your experiences matches what you would expect when dealing with these cars.

The best part of my job is helping you owners build and complete the car to your own personalized tastes!

I will send you a PM with pricing :)

I self installed the Fabspeed headers & blankets on my F430 with OEM cats with no cel. At least an 8hr install with a 4post lift. Actually, the install is easy, the removal of the stock manifolds, not so much unless you are a contortionist. Build quality and sound of the Fabspeed headers is great. Happy Fabspeed customer.

Hey guys thx for the feedback. On a whim I stopped by to an old friend today, whom is well known in the racing world.. Fabian Roock. Anyhow he called a higher up at Fab and in 2 days my headers arrive!! Very excited ..
Especially after hearing the great reviews.

I would do a search on each of those companies. Some of them seem to have a very bad reputation with fitting, quality, and support, with several people on this board getting screwed by a certain company. Do your research.

In the end, you get what you pay for.

I just installed a set of Fabspeed on my 430 as my second set of manifolds cracked. Overall, I'm quite happy although it is still early as I just installed them last night and haven't put more than 10kms on them thus far. I was thinking about Capristo but decided against it mainly due to the fact that I wanted to install these myself (with a couple of friends) and the capristo is a much more difficult install for the amateur. In the end, it took me and a couple of friends 7 hours to replace the headers with the jack on ramps and us on our backs. The job would have take about 5 hours had we not encountered problems with my car (e.g. one of the manifold studs/screws had sheered off with the remaining thread still in place so we had to drill this out to put in another manifold stud, etc). I also installed the O2 extender to the header itself, which I wasn't supposed to do so I had to remove this (not an easy job). I would say that I'm quite an amateur, although my friend was much more experienced and had lots of tools, which helped!

I have no check engine light on mine and the car runs smooth.

Evan at Fabspeed has been great both when ordering and after sales support. To remain bjective, though, Capristo may look much more expensive initially but is almost the same price as Fabspeed when you take into account that Capristo has head blankets already included in their cost, which are about $1400 extra with Fabspeed. Whether it's truly needed or not is still a debate. Also, Fabspeed is 4-1 design whereas Capristo is 4-2-1. OEM is 4-2-1. I honestly wouldn't consider any other header beside these two companies, but that is my 2cents.

Finally, if you haven't done so already you should also replace the exhaust brackets with the one from Capristo (about $650) to ensure longevity of your exhaust system.

    Hope that helps.

    JP

JP, I am glad that your install went relatively smoothly with the exception of the seized bolts! I am also glad that your running issues were solved by placing the O2 extenders in the post cat position! It has been a pleasure and I hope to do business with you again.

You will be very pleased with the new performance of your car! I am glad that we were able to get you a good deal :)

If your cars original cats are in good condition and you use the O2 extenders, you should not get any CEL. I just did another F430 here in house that had no CEL and you can see form this thread that several customers have had the headers with no CEL as well.

So what is the difference/drawback to a 4-1 design vs a 4-2-1 design?

Looking for F430's, should one steer clear from anything older than a 2007 unless it has had the headers already replaced to the MK2's (based on the 8-year warranty) ?

Based on my experience, getting an 08 does not guarantee that you will not have the header problem. The headers on my 2008 430 failed at about 4000 miles and were replaced under warranty.

My concern is that a 2006 is probably out of warranty already (at 8 years). So if one wants at least some warranty coverage on the Headers, a 2007+ would be a better bet, no?

Header project completed. All I can say is WOW! Better than I imagined! Fabspeed upgrade is all you need.
No cel however idle is rough and hesitant at times when accelerating. My mechanic didn't reset the master switch and I'm certain this is the issue. I will stop by Ferrari dealer tomorrow to have them reset.
Unsure of how to post sound clips..sorry

Make sure that you installed the O2 Sensor extenders AFTER the cats and not in the headers themselves.

Decided on the Fabspeed as a precaution against the cracking manifolds issue. So far so good. No issues except for a slight leak on the flange which was probably down to my DIY install, no CEL even without the extenders. Sound is noticeably louder but you get used to it and eventually you start to get addicted to it. Again, butt dyne tells me of improved mid range torque and faster throttle response
