I'm fairly certain this business of "not giving updates" is 6 weeks old, when Sabine said that there were no longer going to give updates unless something significant happened.

Pretty disillusioned with how news sites are rehashing and chopping sentences in order to make a headline that is actually old news........

    Best, Sammy

I'm a bit confused. The last i read, was MS has woken up. He can feel pinch, his eyes follows Corrina around. So there's responses. Jean Alesi seems to confirm that.

However, does this still mean he's in coma? It's already been 6 months..and everyday, hope is fading. Is he awake? Or still in coma? Is he still in the hospital? Or at home? So many questions..

Jean Alesi has specifically & officially denied having said this, a few weeks ago: it has been a press exageration.
M.S is unfortunately still in coma.

Well, I didn't post it at the time, because this didn't seem relevant to me back then, but here you have one of the many articles that says how Alesi was furious (it is the same in french, basically: "Jean Alesi est furieux") after the Bild article, because the said "Bild" article had Alesi saying that he could testified that Michael's state of health was slightly better, etc, as Jean visited him...
Whereas Alesi actually had not said anything about Michael's condition, because he didn't even visit him at all!

We know Jean may usually have a short fuse / quick temper from time to time, but this time he really was furious.

Are Michael's caregivers thinking of their own needs, or Michael's?

It is unreal. 2012 I was taking pics of him at Monza and the next year he is "gone".

In layman terms..godalmighty damn anger, helplessness, despair. Dreadful, tragic, and unnecessary. Having been in the long term care business for over 35 years, I know this is a living hell. For him and the family.

Of that I have no doubt, it is a tragic state of affairs, for all concerned, so sad.

We can only hope we are hopelessly wrong.

Spoke directly to several members of the team yesterday and today and they have lost hope....Gave a ride back to the hotel of a 19-year team veteran who was at Schumi's side during the success years and he said Schumi is a charismatic, generous, amazing person.

Told me he used to track the car on the Fiorano track for 500Km in complete darkness, he knew the track by heart and all you saw was the red braking circles and the steering wheel LEDs reflecting on his visor. He said the discipline and concentration of the man is something he's never seen with any other pilot before...

He was choked up talking about it....5 months later, goes to show you the impact he had on these guys.

Thank you for sharing this with us, I think I lost hope a long time ago although I still had that bit of faith that Michael would recover a little to remember his family but reading what you have said on what the guys said, it has made me feel really numb. God bless you Michael

So what exactly are you saying, that they're somehow to blame for Schumacher to still be in a coma?

When someone is in a coma or in a vegetative state there is next to nothing that can be done other than stretching and moving their limbs.

There are many who believe that a person should be left to die with dignity.

I have experienced both sides of this . . .

My grandfather lingered almost a year--as a vegetable on a respirator (he also had a pacemaker). His hair fell out, his skin developed sores and cracked upon touching him. Kissing him on the forehead caused a bruise. He had constant bed sores and infections, his bed needed cleaning often, his catheter was often causing infections. It was not pretty. We then disconnected the ventilator and he died in about 5 minutes.

My dad, who died on fathers day last year, had a massive stroke. He had a blood pool in his brain about the size of a softball. Since he was on blood thinners, the chance to stop the bleeding, drain the blood and get his brain back to functioning was less than 1%. He was unresponsive to many stimuli, his pupils were dilated and fixed. He was breathing by a respirator and he also had a pacemaker. We gathered the family about 5 hours after the stroke and he lost consciousness. With the family there, we pulled tube (air) and put a magnet on the pacemaker. He died with his family around and without the physical/mental toll of all the other things I described earlier.
