It is generally accepted the that best 328s are the ones with ABS. Buyers pay a premium for these cars. I don't believe that ABS enhances the 328. It doesn't fit the character of the car. The addition of the Mondial suspension parts and related wheels as an inexpensive way to add ABS. Ferrari scrapped the suspension tuned by Niki and bolted on one from their 2+2 cruiser. Every two seater since the 328 has been available with ABS, so I believe it's more significant that you can get the car without. I know that I am in the minority but there must be others that agree?

This should get an award as the stupidest thread ever on Fchat and that is a real accomplishment.

The perfect combination of snarky and cute? My 11 and 6 year old daughters sing this song at least 10 times a day...when they aren't watching the movie.

Not even close, Brian. You've been here long enough to have seen some stab-yourself-in-the-eyeball-with-an-ice-pick stupid threads. Come on. This doesn't even crack the top 20.

I thought it might be people who objected to the use of the word fractal in a Disney song.

Taking into consideration his ignorance and unfounded fantasyland beliefs in the face of a great deal of evidence to the contrary in a prior thread it really is stab yourself in the eyeball stupid.

I'm not arguing that point one bit. However, in the pantheon of FChat stupidity, I think we've seen MUCH worse. MUCH, MUCH, worse.

Actually, this thread reminds me of the SNL Dana Carvey Grumpy Old Man sketch.

"In my day we had drum brakes! And they didn't stop for sh*t! And we LIKED it that way!"

Maybe people have ABS and they don't even realize it.

I guess that new-fangled electrical starter doesn't belong there either…and what about those elec windows? What the heck's up with THAT? ;)

I really like the ABS and it's one of the primary reason I bought an 89 328 as opposed to an earlier model - The improved suspension and the ABS were must-haves for me when I was 328 shopping.

+1. I could hardly believe he started a new thread to spout his beliefs when they were so conclusively crushed in the prior thread. It's such a shame when someone is unwilling to learn.

Falcon, Isn't having your a$$ handed to you on a platter in the previous thread enough for you?

The 328 is a great car regardless of which suspension you have. However, your arguing that ABS doesn't belong on 328s based on your feelings, or touchy feely stuff such as "throwing away the suspension Niki tuned" makes you seem unreasonable and silly...especially in light of the actual driving experience involving tighter/sharper turn in and less dive on later cars.

I can hardly wait for you to tell us that that travel was better when people believed the earth was flat.

Tell us what you really think! Seriously. I get it you don't like ABS on the 328, and in fact I purchased one w/o the ABS mainly because I wanted a simpler system (and the wheels, of course). Still, you've pretty well hung yourself out to dry with this brief outburst...

    This!

First intro of new tech always has some appeal to collectors.

ABS helps save a lot of drivers - so a practical attraction also.

Then again, there is definitely something unique about driving a non-abs car.

So I would say it is a matter of preference, but the late-328s had it and are also the "newest". So they likely sell for more.

308/328 is about the fastest car I'd like to drive without ABS also. The modern systems are truly amazing.

Agree on all counts. Wonderful innovation, especially for the common driver. My BMW 1150RT motorcycle had ABS and it saved me half a dozen times over 10 years -- once on rain slicked roads when an idiot pulled out right in front of me. Stopped straight and true on the side of the road to avoid him.

How on earth can anyone not like ABS?

Unless you are in an emergency situation it just sits there invisible and undetectable. There is nothing to dislike.
