Giuliakeka, was this photo taken before the 24 hour race? Notice that it is not equipped with the 3.0 RS brake ducts and does not have the Heuer decal on the hood. Nice photo! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Idart, you are totally right. With the air duct modification, it can be a post race photo during test.I wonder either about the central part you notice, registration support ? I know the Pozzi Daytona came to Le Mans on the road. Is it the same for this Turbo ?

^^^Very cool video! Love the lack of Turbo badge and special plaid PORSCHE decal to match the interior. Louise had good taste.
Nice video. Also interesting to note that her car did not have the big "Turbo fender flares" we are used to seeing on most 930 Turbos.
Yes, interesting video of a very important car (911 Mule with a Turbo motor). Some may find it interesting as to why an early 3.3 liter 930 is included in this video around the 1:00 mark. This video is actually a portion of a longer film, Porsche Museum Secrets: Part 1. S-DS 6511 was previously included there and discussed on the http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/porsche/371414-1979-porsche-930-78s-too-23.html thread.
Was the passenger side mirror an option on the 77 turbos, or did they come standard? My mechanic has a 77 at his shop that doesn't have the mirror on the passenger side, whereas my 77 #096 does.
Thanks for posting the video of Louise Piëch's Carrera 2.7 Turbo. Great to see more footage and details of this very unique and important 911. Piëch's Turbo was actually based on Porsche's top of the line model at the time: the Carrera 2.7 MFI (which was derived from the 1973 RS with the identical engine) and fitted with a 2.7-liter turbocharged engine. The Carrera 2.7 Turbo was built on a Carrera 2.7 chassis #911 560 0042, hence the narrow "SC style" flares from the typ "911 SC" Carrera 2.7 and the rear Carrera badging, and predated the first 930 Turbos which wouldn't be built until months later. The Turbo was presented to Louise Piëch as her 70th birthday present on August 28, 1974. The engine was estimated to produced approximately 240 PS and the Carrera 2.7 Turbo was also equipped with a 10,000 RPM tachometer.
About le Mans 1975 and the remark of Idart about the photo of the 930 without brake duct, we must take into account the date of Le Mans. The "pesage" took place the 10 of june and the race 14 & 15 june 75. Not a lot of time between the delivery of the first 930 ( april, may?) and the race. Histoire des 24 heures du Mans On the film of the race, I cannot see if the pace car is a 930 as it was in 1976 Ps: the green car on the top of the photo Image Unavailable, Please Login
