If it's number 5 it's only due to Newman restored the other 4.

At first glance, in the second photo, it looked like someone grey primered over the rear clam. Took a second to see the tree branches.

    Looks great!

Today goes down in my personal history as memorable as my children being born, marriage, etc.. Well, it was about 10 months ago that I first drove a boxer, and as great as that was, nothing compared to this morning, when I was able to drive the car that Paul masterly restored. As good as it looks, the ride, the sound and the power are truly amazing, better than I remember them. Paul Newman has truly created a masterpiece, and I believe it rides & runs better than when it came out of the factory. Thank you again Paul!

    Nice stuff Paul.
It would be a blast to have the same process performed on my TR.

I have a candidate for that sitting at my shop right now. It's an 87 in need of a serious restoration. I'm trying to convince the customer to go "balls out" on a complete top to bottom restoration of it. If he does, I'm sending it an hour north to Newman to work his magic.

So what do you think a "balls out" top to bottom would cost for one of our fine testarossas?

I couldn't even attempt to give a quote on somthing like that. You can have an idea, but you never know what you are going to encounter.

The tr is getting to the age where many of them are going to need a full resto. This could end up being in the 6 figure range depending on the car. The car I have at the shop is for sure a 6 figure resto. It needs paint, gear box work, engine work, interior complete..etc. she has over 200,000 km on it. It's been a very good car for the owner. I have just kept it going for him, and it has ran great. But it's a tired Ferrari.

If any tr deserves it, it is this one.

but then it makes no sense to "restore" the TR, when the costs are about twice than the value after restoration.
I´m sure the TR prices will raise some day, only question is when this day will be.

I have a feeling that day will arrive soon. Lots of trs have been cut up for parts or written off and crushed. We don't know how many are left in half decent shape. Lots of them out there needing a lot of work. It's day will come.

And the majority of the US ones have that crappy mouse seatbelt system, making the rest that dont more appealing in the long term.

I don't think that's a big issue. Easily converted. But costly for the trim work. I have converted I think 3. Got all trim pieces used, with brand new belts and receivers. Anything factory installed will not take away value.

I get the most comments from admirers who were driving behind me. Same thing, "that thing looks so (pick a positive expletive) following behind you!"

    Beautiful!
