I don't know , I'm just confused . Like the 12c the p1 has done a lot of testing at dunsfold ( and it's a very safe location and I'm not taking the piss ). The p1 is sure to be shatteringly fast there , perhaps there are technical problems ( maybe batteries ?). It has been very hot in the uk over the last few days ( as it was cold , last time they cancelled ).

 

Doom mclaren are waiting for customer cars to be delivered. We all know porsche are still developing the 918. How many times we keep hearing they are still working on brakes, more HP coming, etc. There is no point in playing your hand until all the cards are delt.

 

To rephrase Seinfeld, they have no hand :-D

 

Sorry mate , 918 is finished .plenty of customer cars delivered , including some visible athletes etc . I've already driven 2 final spec cars . A friends car in Europe and another car that was not a customer car .
Putting the 2 cars side by side isn't "playing your hand" , it's just a fun way of comparing the cars ( on a track that MASSIVELY favours the p1). It's all a little odd , especially after all the bruhahah of the 12c top gear tests .

I can't really seem to fathom why McLaren is refusing to bring the P1 to top gear... unless somehow this is all just speculation and untrue.

I could definitely understand not wanting to set a lap in the cold, in the rain, etc., but I thought we were going to find out on a summer special over the next month or two?

I guess they could have some worry that Porsche is trying to play games, but that seems doubtful. To me it seems like the P1 is a clear winner but then again the big power 4wd cars have proven quick around the track such as the aventador and veyron ss.

Maybe there is some argument as to who will drive the car, or whether their current stig is capable/knows how to exploit the P1's potential. Or maybe this is all just speculation and we'll get to see a lap time in the next couple of months.

Off course we'll just have to wait. But even if we get a nice clean show down between the three cars, that won't end any debate. It'll just spark some new ones.

All three of these cars are truly spectacular performers. Unfortunately they seem to also generate some spectacularly juvenile behaviour.

Yeah definitely. Even if they run both/all cars on the same dry day there will be some bickering due to the particular tires, setup of the cars, use of track mode, weissach pack, whether or not it's a customer car or a prototype, whether or not the stig cut corners, or if it was the stig's italian cousin...

 

Can the the guy from Rome be perma banned? He never brings any content to any thread. He only shows up to reply to other with his dry humor, borderline attacks and his mightier than thou attitude.
