i rewatched the last half of the race. Funny how Seb's corner tells him basically to back off for now because Daniel is going to destroy his tires pursuing Perez the way he was.

I think someone forgot to tell Daniel that. I think that's the refreshing thing about him... he's not aware that he's not supposed to be able to do the things he's doing... as a result, he drives the **** out of the car. I think Seb is starting to drive the same again as well. They're both pushing the **** out of that car...to it's limits more and more.

Interestingly, Ricciardo is the first new F1 winner since Maldonado 2012!

It was another pathetic outing for Ferrari. I would wager Alonso will be gone after this year and who could blame him. They might was well give him a red dog to drive.

Rob Smedley and Sergio Perez in row over Canadian GP accident - F1 news - AUTOSPORT.com

Seems like in the opinion of Perez and FI, the video tapes must be wrong, the stewards are wrong, he is innocent.

I live much of the time in Mexico. To get a Latin male to say he was wrong even when all the proof is against him, is near impossible. Perez is a bought driver, his seat is paid for by someone else, in this case, likely Carlos Slim. That means skill is not at the top of the shopping list.

Sorry Chico, you made a mistake, you took out a more competitive and faster driver.

    A**h**e.

+1....SP want to throw a block and was too late. Lucky to only have a 5 place penalty.

Hey, Otmar Szafnauer....go look at the start again. Hamilton was on the outside and in front. Rosberg took him down the inside. First pass of the race was done going into turn one on the inside. Your pit wall passing pontificating is full of s**t.

Lewis never had position. Where was the pass?

While he did not have the car completely in front of NR, LH had a half a car length or more ahead of Nico, but was on the outside. The place to be was where NR was in direct contrast to what Force India is saying. A faster car can easily make a pass up the inside into 1 and it was done at other times in the race. If I remember, Alonso slipped past someone there as well.

I watched the race several times now (as an Aussie would :) ) and while the drivers are in the "green" room Vettel says "Hamilton DNF'd" and with the sound turned up loud I hear Rosberg say "good"

    Anyone else hear that ?

Of course not, so a valid point :D. Ricciardo is a genuinely nice guy, and he was happy for him.

Absolutely. He wasn't a victim IMO. I'd put 50% blame on Massa at the least, but Perez got the penalty. He should have jerked the other way, not into Perez. But to each his own.

I'm a great fan of Felipe but that looks like a 50/50 to me, as the overtaking car has to make sure it is a safe pass, Perez moved left Felipe moved right

I thought I heard that too - but dismissed it as a typical hearing loss issue of being a 45 year old ....not a very clever thing to say while the whole world is watching if he did indeed say that.

And in other news : Hamilton has 118 WDC points and 2nd in the standings, Button has ......remind me.....never mind I'll tell you 43 WDC and 7th in the standings...:D

Good job he DNF a couple of times I'd say, otherwise it would have been a total cake walk for him.

With two laps to go Button was 8th; Alonso & someone else were battling and ran wide, button slid by, then Massa/Perez accident.....presto, Button 4th...I did not see a McLaren once during the TV coverage....

After his recent brain surgery his reading comprehension probably is not the best and missed the new paragraph. Fanboyism did the rest.

But honestly, Button was lucky to be at the right place and at the right moment, the McLaren did not deserve 4th place. Having said that, old Button has been consistently beating Ron Dennis´ new wunderkind Magnussen.

Yeah but Rossberg and Hami used that strategy and it cost them 1st and 2nd.

Wow. I really needed to see that, because it looked to me with the race coverage that it might have been Massa's fault. Perez clearly cut into him.

    Cheers,

    George
