So those supposed closed door strategy sessions with Bobby Rahal were about a totally different strategy ?

If she started racing in F1 it would make F1 a laughing stock.

How many 32 year old MALES who are not remotely camera-ready would even be jokingly considered for a rookie F1 season with the Danica track record?

    You do the math.

His only real chance is to buy a team.

    I'll just leave this here:

Caterham is for sale. That would be the most cost effective way to get into F1 for him.

Maybe so, but he's a guy who knows how to succeed. He didn't get to where he's at by making monumentally bad decisions due to not thinking things through.

I'm willing to withold commentary and predictions for a bit.

With enough money anything is possible. The only difference between USF1, HRT and Marussia is the level of funding provided. Assumuing Haas is willing to spend heavily, they will make the grid. Success is a whole other issue.

The guy is showing he doesn't understand F1, but he is just the financier. I assume/hope he will be announcing a competent team principle in the near future.

    I stand corrected.
I read the report a few days ago that they were putting the race team up for sale along with the Caterham sports car unit.
    Obviously the report was premature.

According to ESPN F1 Renault is buying Caterham's stake in the sports car project.

"The future of the Caterham Group, including the road car business and the Formula One team, was subject to speculation earlier this year but rumours it was for sale were denied by Group boss Tony Fernandes".

I think Haas makes the grid in 2016, we'll all just have to wait and see.

There are other NASCAR drives older than Danica with little results, so I don't see the big argument. She wouldn't meet the requirements for a license, is too old, and FOX sports just needs interesting headlines to write, so they asked Haas a headline generating question that means nothing.

They might as well have asked if he'd cibsuder Obama driving after he leaves the White House.

    Possible, maybe.

Fer sure, "no bucks, no Buck Rodgers", but even spending a gazillion $ doesn't guarantee anything in F1. Ask Honda & Toyota about spending mega-bucks..... ;)

Most other formulae, he with the biggest budget wins, but thats never been the case in F1. Long may it continue.

    Is he?

I thought, but could definitely be wrong, he was a lot more than that, at least in the taxicab racing team?

Seems like a decent enough guy, but I'm a long way from convinced he can survive in the piranha club.

I believe he's already appointed Gunther Steiner to that role. He had some success (with Dave Richards?) in rallying, but beyond that, I'm not sure how good of a resume he's got.

That he thinks he can run it from North Carolina is mistake #1 IMO. I wish him well, but will be surprised if he makes it - Unless he buys an existing operation of course.

    Cheers,
    Ian

To be fair, I said anything is possible, not enough money will definately buy a championship. But the more money you throw at it, the better your odds are (and Toyota's $400M a year, was clearly not enough to hire the best talent, or rather find the best talent). Budget isn't the only thing, but not having to penny pinch allows you to take more risks and try different things. But without great staff, money won't do much.

He is slightly more than that int NASCAR, his engines and frames come from the big guys (Hendrick Motor Sports, the best funded team in NASCAR). I think his shop makes the bodies and does the aero work. that being said, his team was a no-body until he have half the team to Tony Stewart in order to get him to drive for the team.

My understanding of Haas, he provides the money, has visions of grandeur, but needs a more competent person making the technical calls.

In a indycar on a road course, she was mid pack at best with top flight equipment. End of story.
