After reading a lot of debate about the "virtues" of certain drivers I wondered which driver I would let drive my car (I'm very protective of it) to see just how fast it could go.

Hamilton I think would have the fastest time but my car would be rooted and I'd hate him even more than I do now.

I'd never let Alonso drive it, he's not a true Ferrari driver :p

Kimi before they open the pub would post a good time

It'd have to be Schuey ....

Most of them I probably would. But....

    Not Maldonado.

    Not Ko-Bash.

Grosjean is still on the 'watch' list, crash-wise.

Ricciardo's grin wouldn't fit in a closed cockpit.

Neither would Hamilton's ego. Or Alonso's.

And if I let Vettel drive, it would transform the car into an unreliable dog and leave me stranded every other Sunday.

Can I answer hypothetically, since I don't yet have a Ferrari?

    All the best,

Since I'd want to see how fast it can go around a track, I'd choose Nico over Lewis, obviously.

Button...seems to bring the equipment back in good shape...and still fast enough when inspired to be.

I guess I'd let any of them drive my car... but really I would like either:

    1. Jackie Stewart
    2. Niki Lauda
    3. Michael Schumacher
    4. Gerhard Berger
    5. Alan Prost

    So, you're just looking for a chauffer ? :)

RD likes the Scandinavians to drive his kids to school

I'd be worried about JV, his mind wouldn't be on the job ... just ask Dannii M :p

I could go with any of those except the last; He'd find something wrong and you'd never hear the end of the whining! ;)

Out of any, the Schu of course.

But I agree with Jack the Lad re JB too - He'd get it going *and* bring it back safe & sound.

    Cheers,
    Ian

Didn't Hamilton already get arrested, once, for hooning around in someone's car, in Australia? ;)

No kids but dogs, the laplander squad better be nice to my poodles.

Jacques is there because he could croon whilst in a four wheel drift through Tabac. A unique attribute you're not considering...;)

D.S. Gurney would be the ultimate. I'd give him the car for the next ten years if he'd agree to drive it and I'd be allowed to ride with him once. Can you imagine ? Wow.

I think I'd get out & walk rather than listen to him crooning! ;)

His pops though - Now *that* would be an experience!

Walter Wolf may disagree ... and Jody Scheckter

There is an article I have where Walter asked Gilles to take his Boxer to Maranello for a service, when he gave it back, Wolf said it needed another service :p

+1, it is a good thing Mansell is not driving the new "quiet" Formula 1 we would have no chance to hear the cars over his incessant whining!

None of them ... but if I had to Jackie Stewart, Lauda and Prost would be the ones as they respect the cars under them and why they won so many WDCs.

But we all have to understand that you don't get fast lap times by being nice to the car so "our" cars would get a beating, especially from the current bunch, including huge kerb hops, etc.

My father watched Berger drive a BMW M6 years ago at Adelaide and every time he went through a particular corner he was well over the kerbs with sparks flying everywhere and many wheels in the air as it jumped ...
