In 2009 (pre season, after he had just lost the WDC to Hamilton in Brazil - and before his head injury) we had Felipe Massa at one of our Ferrari functions courtesy of Shell. He spoke to us, signed autographs and then drove about a dozen people around the very tight test track at the venue in someone's 430 spider. The track was maybe 1km or 1.5 km long at a vehicle test facility, and he was so FAST, but so controlled, smooth and seemingly gentle on the car. Car returned after 24 laps or so in one piece and then he signed the wing mirror in black marker.

    Very cool....

I would be happy for anyone of the F1 drivers drive my car, especially if i could be a pasenger. There all better drivers than me although i understand that most arm chair racers on here think they are better drivers. If for some reason the flimsy car breaks, they no doubt have the loose change in there pockets to pay for it. And what a story and providence a car would have.
I find it amazing that there would be anyone who would not let any of the top ten f1 drivers drive there cars if it became reality. Imagine the scenario, you stood by your car at a track day with a crowd of admirers around it. Then lets say the hated World champ LH comes along and also comments on what a cool car it is and whether he could take your car around the track with you as the passenger, and you say no. Yea right
As he is walking away leaving you standing alone to the tune of the crowds laughing at you calling you a **** ;)

Agree with your choice completely but would probably add Button; all would likely return the car undamaged while achieving very respectable times.

Years ago I read a book by Ermanno Cuoghi, Lauda's racing mechanic, who said that, unlike his colleagues, Niki's gearboxes looked as good as new when stripped down after a race and that he rarely suffered suspension failures........he missed the kerbs by an inch or 2, rather than bashing into them.

I'm not a big fan of the public persona LH but I'd definitely let him hoon my car round a track. Even if I had a Zonda (by far my favourite car). If I came all the way to a track with my car I'd be driving on it myself too, and I'd think that an F1 driver is probably a bit better than me at going round it without throwing it into the wall, lol.

And if he does crash it, he can pay for the repairs. :D

Button - Smooth and able to bring it home. In an emergency he is so relaxed. A great public speaker to answer questions about the car. Polished.

NONE.....at speed. I want my car's mechanicals in one peice, without anything broken. Can we spell "broken diff"? These guys are pros who would drive the crap out of it.

Would love a picture of any of these great guys sitting in the car though..

I know enough about my Ferrari's performance potential driving it myself. I enjoy driving it fast but not abusing it to get the last 20%. Just sayin....I'll hire a car and be driven by any of them before tearing up my car.

button is my choice. he has mechanical sympathy.

all the others would give a good ride for sure, so over a couple laps any professional racer would be a fun time. i would however put maldonado, and kobayashi at the very bottom of an infinite list.

Whilst I mostly agree, Kvyat got to F1 on merit so I'd put him on the ''drive it'' list. Thoroughly nice guy, too. Highly intelligent and all that...He's impressed me a lot in F1 already, I never expected it considering he's skipped GP2.

None of them! It's really not a good idea if you want to prolong the life of either your tires or your car. I've had several F1 drivers drive my cars, although not my Fcar, and they all seem to drive road cars as if they were on a road course, including high speed handbrake turns, four wheel drifting through curves (including heavy rain storms), red-lining every shift, brushing up against curbs, etc. And it's certainly not a fun passenger experience when it's your car they're driving. However, when it's a rental car...

Of the current ones Alonso. He can get the most out of a car without breaking it. I would also get into a car with Niki Lauda. Never drove beyond the limit, but at it.

what's the point of letting anyone drive your F car, a F1 driver is just another driver with some track credentials... why have someone else wring the stuffing out of it, if the intension is to drive it hard... I would prefer to do it myself... various journalists and factory have already set the performance parameters... there needs to be some incentive to allow someone else to drive... like letting a fantastic female drive the car to help seal the "deal"
    :=)

None of them. I don't trash my car so I certainly wouldn't let ANYONE ELSE trash it.

I just counted out over $7,000 to my mechanic for a major for my 308....I am not letting ANYONE drive my car that doesn't show the upmost respect for it.

You would potentially sacrifice your beloved Ferrari just so that you could brag to your friends that a F1 driver drove your car??
